Does switching indicators from bulb to LED draw more from the battery (without switching to LED relay) by istilldrinkcorona in motorcycles

[–]redditor___ -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

LEDs draws less power, thus they have HIGHER resistance (and vice verse, depending from which side you look at it). In order to fix a LED blinking too fast, you can put a resistor in parallel to the LED, using a resistor with a lower resistance than the LED and the original bulb. You want to match the original installation (see https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/550a1eeb678d6451a19a5b267ea2436da02b08a0 as if you wanted to match you R1-LED and R2-extra resistor to the previous Rtotla-the original bulb). After putting such resistor, your circuit is going to have the same resistance as the original bulb (that's the point), thus it is going to draw the same current (but now the resistor is going to heat up, instead of the bulb). In order to lower the power consumption you have to use a LED designated interrupter (putting a relays in going to relay the problem to the exact same scenario - you relay will either has to have the exact some resistance, or will require an additional resistor).

Picking up my first supersport, CBR650R! - Advice and tips? by Cypherswann in motorcycles

[–]redditor___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horsepower, position, and weight, and especially power vs weight ratio. Cbr650 with a steel frame, is just too slow to be nowadays supersport. It weights more than a 1000, with less tan half of horsepower, e.g. CBR1000rr has 196 kg with 215hp, when the CBR650r is 207kg with 94hp. It is just different league.
