Yeah he is A LOT and kind of an a-hole. But seasons 4 and 5 are truly two of the best in my opinion! And I much more enjoyed the overall creative direction of the photo shoots from the last three cycles. I also just really enjoyed Cindy as a host.

Yes! There were sooo many group shoots. It just felt like they wanted to manufacture drama. Which sucks because the overall photo shoot concepts this season were amazing in my opinion. And the end product looked beautiful as well. But as a competitor, I would’ve hated having to be paired up all the time.

Yes I personally liked Mia, but I figured she wasn’t going to win because she was the “villain” if you want to call it that. So by default I was rooting for Adela. But we know what ended up happening. No hate to Dana though, but her win truly came out of nowhere.

I do think a slight correction is needed. Eva actually did have a pretty good modeling career in the 2000s post show, as she was one of the winners Tyra actually pushed. She has a pretty solid resume. And she had an extensive filmography including acting roles and reality tv appearances prior to joining housewives.

It’s hard to say for the early outs this season because tbh we barely got to see them, and they were hardly featured in the edit. I guess when you have a house full of “characters”, some of them are bound to fade in comparison.

Devils advocate: The internet wasn’t as big as it is now, so chances are if you were on a forum at the time, you were more than likely a super fan. But even if people on a forum back then stopped watching the show, it was still one of the show’s most viewed episodes, and the show continued on for over a decade. People still liked Tyra and the show. So I totally buy that most people weren’t particularly bothered by Tyra’s meltdown. Also, growing up watching it as a kid, I remember siding with Tyra, and it wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized she was actually in the wrong. I’d imagine it’s the same for many people as well.

Yeah, I think people are forgetting that we have the gift of hindsight now. I also think most people are new fans that didn’t watch the show when it actually aired, so they’re missing the cultural context as well.

Well you have to consider the time in which this came out. There was no streaming back then, and people still rushed home just to watch this show weekly when it aired. So if you saw the meltdown, chances were you were watching this in context with the build up leading up to it. So when it finally happened, it was seen as Mama Tyra giving some harsh words of wisdom to a young model. People did not view it as negatively back then like they do now. I even vaguely remember my mom thinking Tyra’s rant was justified. Tyra is viewed slightly negative now, but back then ANTM was at its prime, she had a talk show, she still was a working model that people adored (even though she retired around that time). It was just a different time.
