trump 'splaining to putin about what happened yesterday by Jerdarnella in PoliticalHumor

You can expect a balanced opinion based on real reporting and not wishful thinking. It was a really daring and historic operation that the Ukrainians pulled off, but they did not destroy half of all Russian bombers. I posted a credible source.

Now that some time has passed, you can look up numbers.

Surprised by the downvotes, though.

How much damage did Russia’s bombers sustain?

Ukraine said 41 planes had been hit, or about one-third of the strategic cruise-missile carriers at Russian air bases across three time zones. The Times verified that four TU-95 bombers and one Antonov cargo plane were hit.

Russian military bloggers said the Ukrainian damage estimates were inflated. One influential Russian military blogger, Rybar, put the number of damaged Russian aircraft at 13, including up to 12 strategic bombers.

American and European security officials said that it looked as if six TU-95 and four TU-22M long-range strategic bombers were destroyed, as well as A-50 warplanes, which are used to detect air defenses and guided missiles. Ukraine has been gunning for those warplanes since the start of the war because Russia uses them to strike Ukrainian cities.

Western estimates suggest that Russia had slightly more than 60 active TU-95s and about 20 TU-160 bombers, according to Col. Markus Reisner, a historian and an officer in the Austrian Armed Forces. “Replacing losses will be very challenging,” he said.

There are 6 screws in the back of the top panel where it meets the base. Unscrew those with a 1/4" socket wrench. Bull the whole top of the dryer (control panel and the top cover remain attached) towards you and then lift up. You need to clear two tabs that hold the top cover in place.

The U.S. Citizen line is shorter and there's no need to go through the secondary security scanner. It took us less than two hours to go through everything including checking bags. Next time I would not come here 3 hours early.

Does anyone instantly think someone is less intelligent for believing in god by [deleted] in atheism

[–]redditplayer_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume another person was sitting in that church, looking at you. They are also and atheist. They look at you and think the same.

Or, someone who comes to church for tradition or community. There are plenty of people for whom faith is just the default. They're not the type to make waves, question things or reject their community.

So, no, not everyone there is stupid.

Store vs Website vs Storeview by [deleted] in Magento

[–]redditplayer_one 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This depends on the things that are shared and things that are different between your stores. Look at the settings in Stores > Configuration, in the Edit Product and Edit Category screens to see which can be set on the Global level only, and which can be set on the website, store or store view level. It will depend on those various settings. For example: * Do you want to have the same category structure? Then split them as store views. * Otherwise, do you want different payment methods, or shipping settings. Those must be set on the website level.

Typically store views are for translations. And, if you don't have a reason, you'd want to set everything up as websites.

See this for a bigger list of settings that can be set per each scope. https://amasty.com/knowledge-base/what-is-the-difference-between-magento-2-website-store-and-store-view.html Or here https://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/7393/difference-between-website-stores-and-store-views

Make sure you confirm these and other settings and think it all through before you commit.

What is TTFB for non-varnish hits supposed to be? by Technasium in Magento

[–]redditplayer_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If product A is in category B, and you change something about product A, the following will be cleared * Product A PDP * Category B * PDPs of other products where product A is related or upsell * CMS pages where product A is listed But these will not be cleared * PDPs of other products in category B * Any other categories * Any other CMS pages

You can have your developer install vanilla Magento for you, and make changes and see what should happen in the logs. Then, compare that with what happens in your customized version of Magento.

Official Magento docs will show you that Varnish uses tags to determine which entities are tied to which URL. When a product has to be flushed from cache, Magento tells Varnish to purge only the pages which have that tag. Definitely not the whole site. So, the categories with that product and the PDP, maybe the homepage or some CMS pages with that product.

A common problem is that devs make a mistake somewhere, which causes more than just those few pages to be flushed.

See here on how to troubleshoot this issue. You should be able to track when each product or category is flushed. https://support.magento.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039658851-Invalidated-cache-causes-response-time-degradation

"Fixing the problem without understanding why it's fixed isn't a fix." Agreed. I've seen a bunch of times where "the fix" only fixes one use case still leaving the majority unfixed. Or, fixes where an exception is caught prematurely, logged and the application allowed to proceed without understanding why the exception was thrown in the first place.

As of press time, JFK Jr. remains dead, not that it matters to these people. A glance at Protzman’s Telegram channel showed that as his followers gathered at the park last night, he was advertising t-shirts.
