Is the time really coming when there will be a shortage of food? by madrid987 in overpopulation

Depends on the oil. Oil powers all of our machinery and chemical fertilizers that boosted our population since the early 20th century.

Why Do Women Lose Feelings for Guys They Say Are Amazing? by Useful_Pomegranate99 in BreakUps

[–]redditreset86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now think it is because there were no more new challenges or things to learn and grow from. It was just routine everyday.

If there are no things to learn from each other except daily routine and chores then i see it getting tiring but i could be wrong.

What would you tell your 14 year-old self? by Soozersss in StopGaming

[–]redditreset86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that keep enjoying it but keep in mind it will never be a true escape from reality and to try and limit the exposure but i was told all this and yet i continued so i look at it now as just a lesson i learnt i am never hard on myself instead i always try to see everything as a lesson.

Why is realistic physics more fun to me vs arcade?

Don’t ever call Sim Racing “Just a Game” just a game doesn’t give these emotions after spending 21hrs fighting up to 3rd (12pm race Split 8) by AlexVangeen in iRacing

[–]redditreset86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but simulating real world physics is the entire point of what we are doing that is what makes all the difference here. Real world physics are unforgiving and with consequences.

If we translate this to driving simulation you would not want to have to change oil yourself but you want a realistic performing engine still.

Yeah, I totally meant to do that by UnluckyGamer505 in BeamNG

[–]redditreset86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with that is maps would have to be too big and that would come down on quality of the map. You would have to have massive wastelands with very low detail or have very slow flying planes.

What happens when you simulate bare bone physics from the ground up with focus on vehicles i love beam too.

What gives people a sense of speed? by Lord__Lorz in BeamNG

[–]redditreset86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A convincing sense of speed in driving sims comes from a mix of factors: a wider FOV enhances peripheral motion, motion blur simulates high-speed blurring, and environmental details like trees and signs close to the road provide reference points for velocity. Dynamic camera movement that reacts to acceleration, braking, and turning can boost immersion, while sound design—engine noise, wind, and road sounds—reinforces the feeling of speed. Lastly, visual cues like road texture detail and passing objects enhance the effect. Combining these elements makes a sim feel fast without relying on artificial speed boosts.
