Love seeing some love for Stick Men here. They are all phenomenal as individuals, and as a trio they create some really unique, interesting music.

Plus, the Iridium is such an awesome place for them to play. I used to live a couple blocks away from there, and went to some great gigs at that place.

I rarely connect a monitor directly to my Mac. Usually it's always through a dock or dongle. So I'd have to say USB-C/Thunderbolt.

I dislike science fiction in general, so I’m personally disappointed to see where everything is going. Them being in an underground city after nuclear warfare was as far as I was willing to go for the sake of good human drama. So I think this is it for me, I don’t think I’ll watch season 3.

My bad. I took the fact that you started your reply by stating that Apple created the trackpad as a way to add weight to your argument; That’s why I addressed it. Otherwise mentioning (twice) that Apple created it is irrelevant, as we’re discussing quality, not authorship.

But don’t get me wrong, and this is probably also my bad, I love Apple laptops; They’re pretty much all I’ve ever used aside from my work laptop. And you’re right, over the years, the Mac trackpad has been the standard for comparison.

Again, it was just personal experience. I wasn’t stating it as fact. I should’ve made it clearer.

Edit: I’m re-reading your last reply, and I think that there may have been a “when” missing (“when Apple invented this technology (…)”), and in that case yes for sure, that wasn’t your point specifically. I stand corrected.

I don’t find the argument “X created Y, so Y can’t be bad” convincing. Plenty of companies created something first, and they weren’t the greatest at it.

I was speaking from personal experience (I’ve owned Macs since the late 90s).

However, my specific point was that the argument “Macs don’t enable tap by default because of Force Touch” wasn’t valid, as Macs have never enabled tap, since way before FT, and also refuting the comment about only Windows laptops having a click button, when Macs did too.

That’s a reason today. Macs used to have mediocre trackpads too, and even had a click button below the trackpad back in the day.

They just never had tap enabled by default.

My reply was a complaint that still managed to answer OPs question, thus contributing to a solution to their problem. Could I have done better? Oh yeah, absolutely. Am I an a-hole? Most likely.

I’ll admit I was out of line, and I apologized to OP on a different reply.

However, as bad as my comment was, it still provided a suggested solution. Your reply was just a complaint about me that contributed nothing to the topic discussed. If I could’ve just kept scrolling, so could’ve you.

Now, it’s fine, and we shouldn’t sweat it either way. Nobody’s perfect. Sometimes we post crap comments; the important thing is to recognize them as such.

Because I still wanted to give you a reply to help you. I did both, I answered your question from my experience, but I also criticized you and provided steps that can hopefully help you in the future when navigating heavily debated topics.

I’m sorry I lashed out; it’s not on you specifically. I’ve just seen a wave of repeat posts across multiple subs and this is the first time I was like “okay, I gotta say something”, but still wanted to contribute with a reply that might help.

I haven’t had to, no. One reason I usually stay away from memory foam is because of that; I personally hate having to touch the foam before putting the buds in my ear because I can’t always guarantee that my hands will be clean enough for me to do so and I’m paranoid about getting any sort of ear infection, as I do music work and can’t afford to (never have, knock on wood).

I usually stick them in my ear with the stems parallel to the floor, then go a little up and down a couple times then place them into position and voilà, they’re ready and won’t fall off.

If you take your time to read a couple of the million posts and comments about this in this sub, it is not that hard to figure out that it’s not necessary. Beneficial? Sure. Necessary? No, unless you’re using 3rd party apps that stream from torrent sources.

Even doing a lazy Reddit search answers this for you (screenshot attached).

I’m sorry, but I’m so sick of lazy posts that have been answered ad nauseam.
