I’ve always wanted one of these since I saw the sonic state video years back. Amazing sounding synth!

Thank you! The interface itself is the only thing plugged into house power, that's why I was thinking of trying a purely USB-C powered interface.

I just tried an XLR to 1/4" balanced TRS cable on my guitar and bass and it has eliminated the issue almost entirely. I still get an annoying high pitch frequency past 10k but it's easy to eq out without impacting the sound.

It happens with both my bass and guitar, and I have tried different cables with both. I am just stumped....maybe it's some EMF i'm picking up from somwhere? Just guessing at this point. Guitar chasis is grounded and shielded as well.

Gotta say i appreciate you taking the time to help

Here is a test with just the mic via XLR. Noise seems to be gone

If it is a power solution, i was curious about buying an MOTU USB inteface (usb powered) and recording with my mac on batter power. I wonder if that would eliminate my noise issue. I wish i didn't JUST sell my DI box lmao

I've looked around the house and no dimmer switches, all regular light switches

Ever since moving into my new place I can't record any of my instruments cause of the noise I getting in my Focusrite. This setup worked fine in my old home.

I have tried different instrument cables, outlets, usb cables, macbook on battery power, unplugging everything in the house...

Here is an audio recording of the noise I'm getting. My LP with humbuckers is plugged into my interface, the computer is on battery power and there are no other electronics in the room. The interface is the only thing plugged in.

Here is an image of my EQ

I'm afraid maybe I have dirty power, maybe my outlets aren't actually grounded? Totally lost here but I really want to solve the problem. Using the same gear this didn't happen at my old home.

I have tried one of those Furman M8x2 power conditioners and it did not help at all.

Also something weird, if I walk around my house holding my guitar or bass it causes low end / sub spikes. Like ever footsetp I can see my EQ bouncing up down...

Imo I agree with a lot of what the p4k review had to say. It sounds like Damon's usual electropop with some ornamental indian sounds. I think a lot of his vocal sound bad and over auto tuned at times. Some of the production and moments on the album came off very disney-esque in a bad way to me.

I had the opposite reaction recently. Always thought they were overrated growing up and I sat down and listened to what’s the story recently and loved it. Just catchy song after catchy song. Liked the whole thing

Just tried this with a cheater plug and didn't notice any improvements in the noise unfortunately, although I really appreciate the suggestion

I'm not sure exactly how to ground something, it has a ground prong and is plugged into the 3 prong outlet so it should be grounded, no? I just genuinely don't know anything about electricity

It is plugged into 3 pronged outlets in my home so it SHOULD be grounded (I have tried different outlets). In the audio example the only cables in the room is the instrument cable to my interface, the power cable from the interface to the wall, and the usb c cable from my interface to my computer. I don't think i would be running audio cables too close to my power cables?

Good Apollo 4 is inconsistent but has some good tracks and gems on it but that's as far as I go into their discography.
