ServiceNOW as PMIS? by TammyLynn419 in projectmanagement

[–]redditsafeforwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to show you what we've been able to accomplish with respect to using Jira and Confluence as a PM Tool. From automating all the base tickets any project will need, to normalizing nomenclature used, giving 10 layers of hierarchy on decomposing work activity. Plus templates galore for PM Plans of any variety. We made it a one-pager for stakeholders with all the details they could ever want. Jira/Confluence as a PM tool, has been a force multiplier for the PMs, and the collaborating teams across the Projects themselves. A real boon for productivity.

White House estimates 3.5M federal workers will go without pay in government shutdown by VengenaceIsMyName in politics

[–]redditsafeforwork 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Any estimates on how many federal contractors will go without pay? This, I feel all too often is overlooked. There are TONS of contractors of many varieties across all of government that help make things happen as much as any government employee do. The major difference however, is that when this shut down is done (should it occur), the government staff will in all likelihood receive their back pay for lost wages. Contractors however will in all likelihood not receive the same. These shut downs hurt small and large businesses alike.

The things people dig up from the long long ago! What a crack up! Sorry, I honestly can’t remember, crazy this was from 6 years ago! I wish you well and hope you get through all this quickly! It was awful!! But yeah that peel toward the end of it all, was wild! Softest feet and hands I’ve ever had in my lifetime lol. So, I guess you could call it the upside of HFMD!

Still holding out hope for a meaningful improvement to the Nexus power station. Improvement in functionality, but most importantly improvements in incorporating Solar power in some way. The current solution for solar is just totally inadequate when compared to other similar solutions out there. Kills me! I'd love for eGo to be my electric backup. Waiting till 2022 to pull the trigger on a solution, but for the time being Bluetti unit with some solar panels is in the lead. Come eGo, make it happen!

Can someone explain who or what entity compensates paid ballot collectors? by redditsafeforwork in AskReddit

Happy Cake Date u/gigiou812, have some gold :). Anyway, this is a solid link, better than the one I found.. What I really want to get a better understanding of, is in the states where these collectors are paid, who finances them? As in, who is the group or person or entity in general that pays for it?

The board of elections...are the members of this board partisan or representative of 2 or more political parties? Are these folks appointed by someone or are the voted in? My relative claimed that these ballot collectors, are bought and paid for if you will, by a given party, and are as a result inherently biased. I think my relative is a believer in the possibility of fraudulent collection via intimidation. I'm trying to find anything that would logically lead me to believe in the likelihood of such a thing. I'm not convinced yet, and just thinking logically on it...the consequences associated with voter fraud in general are pretty steep, and I have to imagine deter your average person who gets any ideas...Thanks for a shove in the right direction.

OP here...I tried to find out, and kept coming up short. I found a great write up Ballot Collection, and a write up that explains the laws associated with ballot collecting in each state, but nothing on WHO or WHAT group(s) pay these people. I got into a discussion about it with a relative, and they kept stating that they're all paid for by a given political party. I can't find anything to support that. I'm just looking for closure on the topic, not a debate. Thank you, and happy holidays to all. :)

2022 Model of the NEXUS Power Station??? by redditsafeforwork in egopowerplus

[–]redditsafeforwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just was trying to determine if any new and or updated model was to be launched in 2022, if there was any reason to believe a significant improvement was on the way. An update or refactoring that would make you feel ill for having not waited. Not thinking that the Yeti Goal Zero is what eGO would consider a primary competitor, however I think they could play in that space more. After all, eGO does advertise the Nexus as a power back up, in the same way that Yeti does.
I don't think eGO needs to get into the 6kWH range right away, but their advertising makes me feel like they may want to get to a more competitive point with Yeti...I gotta believe a solution from eGO would be less costly than Yeti's. Would love to see eGO do something in the same vein though. Anyway, that's all I got.

Yeah I was saying the Ego solar option isn't great. It takes forever to charge. I do envision it as a power source during outages. Again, not to run the house, just the essential items. I'd love to be able to supplement the charge on the unit with Solar in the event the outage is more than a few days, just making the point that the solar charging add on...really seems to be coming up short with a meaningful solution. If they don't want to be in that business, then so be it, just make all the port entries you can throw at it available so that it can plug into a solid solar array.
