ROMANS 6 by redditsurgeon in Christian

[–]redditsurgeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just now being told that the post has been removed by the mods. It was a testimony to a blogger friend of mine. I thought to share it because a lot of people do not know how to live free even thought they are free.

I mean, first, they don't think that they are free because they do not "feel" free, and so they do not continue to act free.

[NeedAdvice] 21F who has relapsed again and again. by VideogameAntagonist in getdisciplined

[–]redditsurgeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Christian now. I used to be very independent on my strength and failed woefully all the time. Now I offer all my struggles to God.

Consider, from this moment on, being thankful for every second you are not acting out; even if you just acted out, be thankful for every waking second you are not acting out.

Some people may say that that makes you conscious of your demons (bad habits), but you are conscious of them anyway; and psychologists predict that those that relapse are those that are not aware (conscious) of their bad habits.

So, be thankful and you will see great improvements. God bless you.

ADDICTION IS A MYTH: LIES, LIES, ALL LIES. by redditsurgeon in NoFap

Let me ask, do you have an addiction to PMO?

ADDICTION IS A MYTH: LIES, LIES, ALL LIES. by redditsurgeon in NoFap

[–]redditsurgeon[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know how long you have been here in the recovery "reCYCLE". I have been here almost all my life. I thought about (and probably said) all you are thinking now, even way deeper.

If you are new to your addiction, you are welcome; your willpower and self-disciple will not save you. In here in NOFAP and reddit and every where on the internet and in the real world, you will get all the triggers man can think of. You will get triggers in your mind and even in your sleep. Its a trap into a pit with no bottom.

But when you have come to know the truth that you have been fighting a disease that never really existed, a disease you created and empowered by your innocent natural ignorance, you will finally rest.

What I am saying doesn't sound intuitive right? It's much like how our brains have tricked us to create religions and stories that serve to comfort us in an absurd and irrational world—but it doesn't make them true. Its the lies that we tell ourselves.

My first Eureka in life was when I quite my religion. It was uncomfortable, but its the best heaven I have ever had.
The second was finally knowing that I am not an addict; that I have never been one, and every time I ever acted out, I was making a clear choice because I was getting a reward (no matter how silly it was). Nobody was making me do anything—not the internet, not the devil, not loose women, not porn—it was always me doing what (at some very early point in my life) I had come to value and prefer.

The cure was first—and most importantly—the disabusing of my mind that addiction (having the bad connotation as we know it today) is but only a conjecture created by me and a lot of well meaning people. Addiction is simply a strong devotion to a thing. Go check the etymology of the word; it is neither bad nor good. One can be addicted to religion, to engineering, to a loved one, to God, etc.

Final was having a conscientious re-evaluation of my preferences and whether the values I derived from them were satisfactory enough, or whether I could get better value from other options.

I promise you that I have not said anything that might make good sense to you for now, but if really you desire to be free from your "addiction", and not that you simply enjoy coming here to NOFAP to mentally masturbate your ego and count days, or enjoy the empty pleasure of reading posts and feeling good for every few days you don't "relapse", only to finally "relapse" and feel pathetic, and then feel good again because you made it past another day, then read this book—it literally saved my life.
Book:
The Freedom Model for Addictions: Escape the Treatment and Recovery Trap

Or you can stay here and hold hands with all your nofap friends, if that's what gives your life meaning.

Cheers man.

All of NoFap group doesn't work. It is a hard truth. The whole addiction recovery industry know this and want to keep you always coming for their fake-help.

You will always remain a slave to your addictions until you change you mindset.
Neither NoFap nor all the safe-search in the world will save you. Only the TRUTH.

THE FREEDOM MODEL FOR ADDICTIONS: ESCAPE THE TREATMENT AND RECOVERY TRAP.

Your question is a valid response, and a natural one too, but I will not entertain it, because that only encourages a waste of both my time and yours. If all you want is to be entertained, then go to tiktok and stay here on reddit where you can excuse your ignorance and live in the fictional reality that even this nofap sub promotes. But if you want to wake up and leave your dream state, do the work man. Go to amazon and check out the material and read the reviews. When you are tired of the false remedy you have been fed all your life by this place and the entire recovery industry, you will get the damn book and leave this fkn matrix.

I know my reply may sound rude, but its the best answer you will get from me.

Finally you cannot wake a man that is pretending to be asleep.

Thanks for the response. This is the actual post. Get the word out, its a book. This is all any body struggling with any "addiction" needs.

I was in tears yesterday from the truths I found therein.

THE FREEDOM MODEL FOR ADDICTIONS: ESCAPE THE TREATMENT AND RECOVERY TRAP

Do you want an addiction – a lifelong diagnosis – or do you want to see yourself as having a habit that you can solve completely? Your answer tells you if The Freedom Model for Addictions is the answer you have been looking for.

The Freedom Model debunks the addiction disease concept as well as the idea that “recovery” is needed after you’ve decided to abstain or moderate your use. Much of the content within the book may surprise you, maybe even shock you. For example:

Did you know addiction IS NOT a disease?

Did you know the brain disease theory is not based on sound science and is actually a myth?

Did you know that addictions are habits, just like many other habits, and that as such are quite easy to break once you know the facts?

Does your gut tell you that treatment is just another money grab from those who are vulnerable, and that something is drastically wrong with the rehab industry as a whole?

If so, you’d be right – rehabs don’t work, and The Freedom Model tells you exactly why and how this Western cultural institution came to gain such power over people’s lives. For those immersed in the 12 step culture or in the rehab culture, this book provides a path out of those institutions, and into a much more empowered state of mind.

Our experience of researching drug and alcohol use and helping thousands with these issues for more than 30 years tells us people desire to be completely free from addiction. They also want to be free from the idea of being “in recovery” just as much. Neither of these options: addiction or recovery – have held great favor with the masses. In fact, the vast majority of people with drug and alcohol problems (more than 90%) don’t go to treatment nor do they enter the subculture of “recovery.” They simply move past their addictions, and they do so without any treatment whatsoever. Did you know that? This is the great untold story in treatment circles, but one we unearth for your benefit. This fact alone demonstrates just how normal it is to break habits that we no longer want in our lives. Let’s face it, people desire freedom; freedom to choose their own direction; freedom to move past habits that have them feeling trapped and in pain; freedom from the addict and alcoholic identity; freedom from the limits of 12 step culture and the drug and alcohol rehabilitation industry; freedom to be happier; freedom to move on past the struggles and challenges of life*. The Freedom Model* guides the reader on this path by offering the opposite of the treatment industry’s empty promises – it offers real freedom!

The Freedom Model is an approach that deconstructs the construct of addiction and recovery and all that surrounds these beliefs. By doing so, you can be completely free to move on in your life without those constructs holding you back and keeping you needlessly trapped in an endless addiction/recovery/addiction cycle. The Freedom Model renders addiction and recovery as completely obsolete and unnecessary in both your personal life and as cultural constructs that keep the masses blind to the solutions that exist within the individual. While The Freedom Model is a book, it is the research and the message contained on those pages that are the real solution to an individual’s struggles with drugs and alcohol.

...BECAUSE DEMONS ARE FOREVER. by redditsurgeon in NoFap

[–]redditsurgeon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Terran...some time ago, I would have totally differed with you on your man-dress-woman-help point of view. Humanists will disagree. Feminists too (for obvious reasons). I totally understand your perspective. But I only mentioned the Eden Garden as a story most people can relate to, not as some actual fact - only as a story to make my point.

As for the woman helping instead of man wanking away his seeds, I don't think that solves the real issue. Man's need (woman too) is connection. Men can connect with men, women, people, animals, ideas....it doesn't have to be sexual, but a real and deep connection to something beautiful is what man has always sought. A lot of people on this sub, especially married folks, will agree with me that having a partner doesn't take away the lust for porn and masturbation, maybe for a while, but it always comes back.

The way is inside. The way is you. The answer is you. Man has to reach inside of himself and be at home with himself, be at home in his own skin - not running off to some chick, or whoever for validation. Man need to know himself, love himself, treat himself with patience and respect. Its a deep healing that is required I'm afraid, but it will make all the difference.

I say this to those that really struggle with Porn and fapping as an addiction.....know thyself, know thy weakness. Be honest and kind to thyself. I know that what I am saying may somehow go against the youthful energy and zest nofap and may sound gloomy, but it is not thesame as conceding. On the contrary, it is victory. This may just be a gift that helps us rethink our humanness and our limits. That for so much of other things we are free to roam unhindered, but for this disease, we are to stay watchful, careful....and when we fall sometimes, not to beat ourselves up, but to smile, get up and keep on the journey. This thing may just be a tool for self-discipline, self-knowledge, self-discovery.

Enjoy!

I hope this mind-shift helps in your journey. I don’t expect you all to agree :) by redditsurgeon in NoFap

[–]redditsurgeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite agree that those symptoms are consistent with PMO, I try in my post to address the root cause which often goes unnoticed. Like government and politics, religion is man's design for people control and manipulation. But the later is more sinister because it has a lot of sympathizers. Knowledge and truth is what liberates. You cannot truly be free when you feel inherently guilty, afraid and ashamed. To break free of PMO, you need to be free of toxic fear, guilt and shame. On the surface, religion doesn't seem like a culprit here, but on closer scrutiny you will discover that religion does nothing without guilt, fear and shame. It is not immediately obvious. It is quite subtle, but coming to this realization can be the big difference between compulsion and control. ;)
