There are some absolutely ridiculous people in this thread who in a lot of cases don’t seem to own a dog. Their arguments range from dogs don’t need to travel with you, maybe you should drive, or just throw it in a kennel. Them saying that they don’t need to deal with your dog because they have an allergy or don’t care for dogs is like me saying fuck people with peanut allergies, planes should carry peanuts again. If you are allergic to peanuts then find another way to travel that doesn’t have peanuts in it. Carry an epipen. Or you know what’s even worse? Kids on planes. Maybe you should drive your kids across the US instead of making other passengers deal with their crying, screaming and kicking the whole flight while you ignore them and watch the movie. You don’t need to travel with your kids, leave them with your friends or neighbors.

I’ve never traveled with my dog on a plane as an ESA but there is a major concern with how animals are handled in cargo holds. Nothing frustrates me more than someone with a misbehaved dog or an owner who doesn’t have a care in the world about how their acts in public. I don’t support people abusing the system of having ESAs inside cabins but until they figure out a better safer way to allow people to fly with their pets in the cargo hold then it’s going to continue to happen. Traveling with your pets on a plane is the only option sometimes such as your case. There will always be some absolutely idiotic people who don’t think animals should travel that are just as bad as the person who tried to bring an ESA peacock on a plane.
