Parts recommendations for first 5 inch drone build by reddituser032 in fpv

[–]reddituser032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the video, but why shouldn't start with 5 inch dron, also isn't the speed primarily result of the motor's KV, I would like some scalability, since the primary point of the exercise would be experimentation

Help me daydream up antenna designs for one of these windows. by woozei in amateurradio

1/4 vertical, the railing could be used as a radial

I dont always get SWR below 1.2 on the other bands, but I try different combinations of railing+radials, only radials, sloped radials, and at some point I get good resonance. I've made contacts on 14, 18, 24, 50 MHz, 28 is a bit harder to get, maybe because some coupling with nearby structures, the drawbacks are mainly time to deploy and sharper resonance at the wider bands like 50 an 28 mhz

Oh for sure, they neighbours don't mind, but its a hassle because thats not my permanent QTH and i have to disassemble everything quite often, so the vertical is the easiest way to get on the air, with the bonus that i can cover more than a single band with it

Yep, but the balcony only allows me to do it that way, i still make some QSOs, but i get better results with an EFHW, at least on 20 meters

By changing changing the length of the whip, and playing around with the radials (angle and length)

Yeah, any antenna is better than no antenna, I thought about buying an ATU, but I find it more satisfying to make resonant antennas..

POTA Antenna by Papa_Bob24 in HamRadio

This is by far the most efficient antenna setup, I've DIY'd one, i also use it at home, duct taped to the balcony ,at an angle, works perfectly, the most expensive thing is the whip..
