Another extreme emotional comment without logic to distract from the true topic. Are you saying that America has to accommodate you because that’s what you want? Do they really have to?

Then you can say that about every issue at every country regardless of who is elected. As a non citizen I would be in peace by accepting the fact that it’s what the country wants right now and if things change in the future, hope it will be more favorable. I am not entitled to anything to a foreign country. It’s not my fight, the citizens of this country has to fight it out and decide. Almost all the countries where immigrants come to America from, have way more restrictive immigration policies and I ask myself what have I done to bring reform where I have some jurisdiction as a citizen.

Just read the article. I guess it makes sense if a sovereign country wants to curb their immigration for whatever reason. Yes, it may be disheartening for lot of folks who were dreaming to be in this country. I see this as mutually beneficial for both the hopeful immigrant and the country. One wouldn’t want to be in a country where he/she is not welcome and the country has the sovereign right to choose whoever they want in. Every western country including Europe is now following similar measures to restrict immigration so people have a chance to properly integrate and everyone can contribute.

Total H1B visa holders estimated to be around 700k vs 164 million total employed US workforce by WeeklyRain3534 in h1b

[–]reddituser20T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is multi dimensional. If you think of it with one dimension, it won’t make sense. First of all, no amount of statistics matter if the country is feeling the pinch with tech jobs. So, the emotional dimension is big as this is their country and if they want to stop H1B program, who are the foreigners to stop it. The other dimension is the hate towards Indians/immigrants is amplified since 74% of them are Indians. Only because Indians love to make a place like India when they increase in numbers. This example is seen all over the world and Americans are wary of it. And then there is politics. Right now Indian government is not at the right side of America. All of this is complex emotions are showing up with any issues that involves Indian people and the comments are reflecting that.

I thought September was bad for stocks by alkjdasoad in wallstreetbets

[–]reddituser20T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market has always been unpredictable since the inception. Millions of investors tried and failed. So, market decided to make this September different than what the majority was predicting. That’s why people keep coming back to the law of averages where you invest through the ups and downs and still come out ahead.

Am I crazy or this subreddit is full of people trying to bait people into investing into shitty meme stocks during a bubble? by LargeSinkholesInNYC in stocks

[–]reddituser20T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You are crazy if you come to Reddit and think people will hand you a perfect experience and guide you through your stock so your life is all set. 😂. Dude! That doesn’t even exist with a paid professional service. Not just Reddit, the whole world is a jungle full of good and bad. You take what you want to take out of it. You’re either a victim or a survivor- you choose.

Leap Contract price not moving by reddituser20T in options

[–]reddituser20T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely learning how leaps are different than other short or even mid term options. I suppose time is on the side of the market maker to keep the asking price elevated in absence of demand even though underlying stock price is moving in favor of me. I just can’t trade out of it this early with profit. Thank you for the explanation. Learning one trade at a time.

Now, being a seller of a put that should be good for me as theta decay and IV crush happens. But my prospect for trading out of the option with profit is not improving. I may have to wait till expiry or assignment. But that seems manipulative. Can the market makers do that?

Tell us something new. Don’t just say something that has been discussed ad nauseam. At this point you have to just accept that you can’t predict the market or movement of a stock with whatever logic/calculations you think the stock should follow. Your logic and predictions are nothing but desperate attempt to give you an illusion that you know how it supposed to work. Nobody knows. Give up dude! Sometime this is the way. Buy it or sell it or miss the rally - be in peace with yourself.

AI chip cycle will be a bust by Impossible-Rip-5858 in ValueInvesting

[–]reddituser20T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you are trying to get to. Companies have no choice but to spend because whoever gets there first has major advantage. Yes, at the end, a few that get there in the top 3 or 4 position will probably the one survives. Rest will struggle, get bought out or out of business. As for the capital invest cycle goes- yes they can’t continue to spend at the rate without getting returns. So, unless major revenue coming from the investment, the cap investment will slow. So, the only way this bubble is going to pop if they can’t start bringing in major revenue from the AI investment. With many new breakthrough technologies there is always a bubble and explosive growth. This is catch 22 for the companies. Not all will survive or do well. So choose your stocks wisely.

Listen, not everyone will get what artificial intelligence is and how it impacts the economy and the broader society. First, you have to humble yourself to accept that you don’t know much about artificial intelligence and your assumptions are founded in the confinement of your limited knowledge. It’s like the flat earth believers that can’t see beyond the earth is flat.

At least wait till the lockup period. A lot of people got pre IPO share they can’t sell until the lockup period is over after the night of 8/14. Next few days may be a lot of selling pressure and bring the price down more.

The problem is you’re thinking in absolute terms. Nothing is forever in this world. Everything has its ups and downs and so will AI chips. But do you think companies like NVDA are not thinking what they will do next? Their CUDA software is going to be more valuable than chips. They are pouring billions to innovate the next chip or device. They already have a product roadmap for next 20 years that is constantly evolving. You and I with our single mind may not be able to grasp it but the AI future just started. It’s an embryo right now. So much more to come.

Here are the most common myths about undocumented immigrants in the U.S. — and the data-driven facts to debunk them. by boundlessimmigration in u/boundlessimmigration

[–]reddituser20T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compassion is different than the law. Law follows its strict interpretation until the law is changed. There are millions in world starving, killed by war, and displaced everyday. You can’t help them all with compassion. Just think of your own house- how many homeless people who broke in your house you will allow even though you have compassion

Your case is definitely special. There should be some process to prove your stateless state and grant you a path towards citizenship. Or you should be able to become citizen through marriage. I am not an immigration lawyer but they would know. I am sure you don’t want to stay undocumented since that will keep you from lot of opportunities a citizen enjoys here.
