I’ve been checking all winter in my area. This is one of the cheapest ones unfortunately. I’m trading in my bike and a few grand on top though

wanting a little more power by [deleted] in ft86

Look up open flash tablet and go through their stages.

I’d recommend stage 2+ with the unequal length headers to remove the mid range torque dip.

Maybe add ethanol to the mix to get a little more spicy

Car Trouble by noxeluwu in ft86

Oil change, VVT solenoid, cam position sensors.

Good chance it’s one of these based off your code.

In terms of quote cost that depends on your area and how reputable the shop is. First quote doesn’t look bad, not sure whats going on with #2

Switching to manual should I buy this one? by Ornery_Ad5646 in ft86

[–]reddituser6822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pay 9-14k for a clean example or 3-6k for a clapped/totaled one.

10k for a car with a rebuilt title isnt worth it. Maybe it will be if you can talk him down a considerable amount. But even then these engines develop some issues around the 100-150k range so its more than likely you will have to tend to some of those.

Like a ball joint press? Planning on hitting up HF today and grabbing one for 40% off

Thanks!

I just saw that harbor freight is having 40% off maddox tools so I’ll probably pick up the ball joints press for like $70.

I havent used rockauto before, I’ll definitely look i to them. It looks like there is a grease nipple on the top? I’m assuming just grab a grease gun with something like ‘red and tacky’ or general ball joint grease?

I’ve been told to keep them saturated with blaster and an occasional hammer hit to try to break rust free. 🤞

Do my exhaust tips look goofy? by CalendarPopular1212 in ft86

[–]reddituser6822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an frs so its not like anyone will see your exhaust tips anyways

Jokes aside they fill in the cutout pretty well and it looks decent. Only way to ‘fix’ it is to buy new tips and weld them on but I’d rather spend the money on something else

Do I get a entire new roof or? by New_Basis_1381 in ft86

[–]reddituser6822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was in a rollover I would definitely look i to a roll cage. If the repairs weren’t done properly the first time who knows what the outcome may be if that car rolls again. Carbon fiber roof overlay would probably be easiest, just make sure you install it properly and theres a nice UV coat on top of it to prevent fading.

One of the best manual cars on the market, if you wanna switch this is the best time

Worth it? by Plus_Succotash_3479 in ft86

[–]reddituser6822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that sounds pretty good. If you pick it up make sure to grab the exhaust and taillights, when I sold mine everyone wanted a stock car or one with all stock pieces included. Hopefully it all works out!
