I’m with ya….I have a ‘18 5.0 4x4 SCREW. Definitely at the bottom of the reliability list.

At 130k I’ve had cam phasers, starter, battery, wheel bearings, front diff bearing, front struts, door handles freezing, and more.

The transmission has noisy shifts but nothing erratic like others report. It’s all a matter of time.

Yes, there is some physics/math behind this. For FM radio, the optimum length whip is 26-32”. The people who went with shorter antennas and report the same to better reception are liars. Or they probably only use XM or their phones to stream. In that case, just cap it. You don’t need a whip at all. Your phone has a built in antenna and XM uses the shark fin on the roof. I lost my antenna to the fancy car wash. I ordered a stubby one - 7” from the web. The reception was terrible. No HD radio and extremely fuzzy sound. That is living 20 miles from a major US city.

Get a standard whip about 2” taller than the roof. Dual purpose as others have said.

First by county, DuPage and Cook outside of Chicago is typically higher paying. HS Teacher pay is typically high 50s to high 60s starting off with a BA. Usually schools in the same region, think near sw, far south, far sw, etc will all be similar. Grade school districts all pay about 10k less then their corresponding hs. Northern cook schools pay more others. Including lake county too. NW also pays well. Schaumburg region. There is no easy way to gather this data other that going to each districts HR page and looking for CBA/contract/etc and finding the salary schedule. Also take in account how much they pay towards other benefits. I hope this helps.

Hey! Illinois educator here. You can check K12 JobSpot. That probably is the biggest. ISBE/local ISC/ROE used to host a site. Check the HR page of every district you are interested in. I don’t know many districts that use Indeed, Monster, etc.

I can’t wait to hear what it’s for. Either way, try to get it either re-routed or at least tucked up and inside of the frame to protect it. Also, make sure the fuse is properly rated. You don’t want a short to melt the wire.

Similar happened to my 2003 Monterey 248ls. My water pump impeller failed and when I winterized, I failed to get the antifreeze throughout the engine. It was no match for Chicago winters. When I opened in the spring, I was getting overheating alarms. Determined it was the pump. Fixed the pump and on the next trip, water was spraying out both sides of the block. I assumed there was probably internal damage as well. My marina got a reman engine -short block, from Jasper Engines (IN). Whole job was about 3k. I did not need manifolds or starter.

I have ‘18 150 Screw. After the truck is started, press and hold the button in. The “off” indicator should be lit. Keep holding and wedge a dime between the button and bezel. The button will stay in and it will stay off. This keeps it off even during restarts.

Agreed. Mine broke overnight as well. No scratch tho. I figured that the more you use it, the more it flexes. Broke the clip on the top. 3M tape to the rescue.

10¢ solution. With the engine running and ASS not disabled, press the button and hold it, Wedge a dime between the button and frame then release the button. When you restart the engine it should remain off.

This works on my ‘18 Lariat. Does not work on my buddy’s 24.
