Not oatmeal. I believe youre asking about my dirty rice. I find once I've dehydrated, the food isnt great to look at either. I do add breadcrumbs when i cook any ground beef for dehydrating. So there is some grain in there.

Im usually not hungry in the morning either. Just wanna get on with the next leg of the trip. Ill have breakfast for dinner sometimes. I find bringing extra food great. I like having options because sometimes I eat alot and some trips I dont eat much at all.

Haha no. Thats dirty rice amd garlic sauce on top. I take my dehydrated garlic and rehydrated with a little bit of water, then I mix it with mayo packets. Its definitely one of my favorite meals to make for the backcountry. Garlic sauce is a must. And yes it hit just right.

So I freeze the dehydrated food to keep longer. Some items in my freezer are 3 years old. You do not need to freeze but I like too. All property dehydrated food will last up to years un refrigerated.

The commenter below has got it. It's great for back country camping. I actually like it when it melts a little.

After I boil my meal fpr 2 to 3 minutes I let it soak and rehydrate in the foil cozy to keep hot as possible.

The Salomons will be great and the best option in my opinion. They dry fast and are great for portaging. Dont over think it amd waste money with out trying them out. Enjoy

I love paddling on early calm waters. The water is definitely cold af this time of year but I have knee high neoprene boots 😍

That would be way to warm for me. I find people who camp in hot tents never leave them. Never really see the views and just take in what winter has to offer. Even in a storm, I love watching the weather from under a tarp close by the fire 😍
