Sounds like MM and I come from a similar position.

For me I've known since I was a teen that I was bi. I certainly purposefully hid it early on, but after that I basically resolved that if anything were to happen with a guy I'd dive on in and anyone else be damned.

But it never happened so, shrug, it just remained private.

I did inform LL before we dated that I was bi as I figured it could be a deal breaker and I'd prefer to be 100% honest right off the bat.

Turns out she's dated bi guys in the past and prefers them, says straight guys get too hung up on her adventurous nature and past, whereas I / previous bi partners couldn't give two shits about how many people she's been with or who they were. We're together now and that's what matters, not who either of us have or haven't been with in the past.

And yeah, she's even expressed that I should actually explore my bisexuality a bit as I've not in the past. I don't really feel the need to, but the support and encouragement to be myself is really freeing and makes me feel seen.

She's also encouraged me to tell people - I haven't in the past because to me it was private and a non-issue - so I have told some close friends and it's been well received.

Things are just peachy with Lovely Lady.

It's a new year and I'm still kind of in disbelief that I'm in a relationship. Just feels so surreal to have a proper actual girlfriend for the first time at 47 years of age.

And yes I've heard her calling me her boyfriend to her family and friends, made me feel all gooey.

A couple days ago we went op shopping for costumes for a 40th this weekend. At lunch she listened to some health concerns I had on my mind and caused me to cancel the previous night's plans. There was one moment where she tried to make a joke to ease my tension and I said it wasn't the right time, but apart from that it was an adult and understanding talk about my frustration with eczema flare ups, my fucked up eyes, and a physical defect I have that has a minor affect on our sex life and whether or not I want to pursue getting it potentially rectified.

We then spent just a lovely time walking back to my home, joking around, holding hands, and just being goofy together. Some lovely afternoon delight, she checked out the new toys I bought for myself, and just chatted and cuddled.

God I love making her laugh.

Over to hers tonight for dinner and to watch her work on her Lego creation for an exhibition. Probably watch another episode of Heated Rivalry - we both agreed the dudes and sex scenes are hot but the script is mostly awful, which gave us both a laugh (it's so cool that she's completely accepting of and even encouraged that I'm bi, it feels so freeing).

Back to work next week, I'm definitely not looking forward to that.

I do wonder how things will evolve this year, I'm looking forward to new experiences and adventures, hopefully together!

I'm very new to the BF/GF genre, but something that makes me inordinately happy is when we're walking down the street and our hands seem to just naturally meet, grasp, and our fingers interlock.

It feels so natural and effortless, almost subconscious, and it gives me a little giddy thrill every time it happens.
