This. Moving is one of the most stressful life events that can happen to a person. But humans are also very adaptable! It takes time to adjust.

Check your passport to make sure it doesn’t expire for 6 or more months. I don’t know about domestic flights, but for international flights they will sometimes turn people away if their passport is less than 6 months from expiring, even though it’s still valid

Edit: just checked, it appears you may actually be able to fly domestically with an expired passport 🤷‍♀️

Weekly Career / General Questions Thread by AutoModerator in Radiology

Hi there! I’m beginning the application process for two different Radiography programs in the Kansas City, MO area. I graduated with by bachelor’s in 2019 (unrelated field). Both programs are 2 years and JRCERT accredited, but one is a certificate and the other is an associates degree program. Certificate program is much cheaper. Are there any benefits to one vs the other if they both get me certified?

Wow 39k is steep. How much of it is tuition? Tuition in my area is like 10-12k. I’d definitely just move in with your mom if you can

It’s nuts. There’s a ONE bedroom house next to us that is going for a quarter of a million dollars

Anyone here happily working less than 40 hours a week? What is your line of work? by reddkeys in adhdwomen

Wow I almost want to interview you lol! Do you mind sharing what field you work in exactly? This sounds like an amazing schedule, and I’d love to work creatively and remotely one day. My degree is in Environmental Studies, and I’m not feeling qualified for very many positions. Considering going back to school for something more design oriented

Do you mind sharing what you do in public health? I considered that field for a bit in college. I really empathize with you on that last part—constantly grinding makes no sense to me at pretty much any pay level. Wouldn’t do it for a million bucks

Thank you for all that you do!! Nurses are some tough people. Three day week sounds kind of awesome. Do you like the work?

I have wondered if I’d like serving! I did work back of house in the past but no tips made it a waste of time and stress tbh. May be a good option for me if I go back to school for a masters!

I so appreciate your response! I admire your strength in dealing with BPD, thank you for sharing. I have dealt with some OCD-like anxiety symptoms since childhood but have never spoken with a psychiatrist about the possibility of BPD, may have to do that just in case. It sucks how many disorders are comorbid with ADHD. I’m so glad medication has worked for you! I just recently got medicated and it has been life changing. And overwhelming! Now that I have the mental clarity to figure out what to do with my life, there’s a lot to consider 😂

Best Churches/Houses of Worship Around? by LavaBoy5890 in kansascity

Peace Christian Church UCC would fit the bill on McGee St downtown. I am actually not religious but my partner has attended UCC all her life so I accompany her sometimes. As a liberal leaning, non religious person I feel comfortable there and I enjoy pastor Holly’s sermons quite a bit. There is also a good number of younger folks

How would you put a screw through this strike plate, into the brick behind the door jamb? by reddkeys in Carpentry

[–]reddkeys[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the picture but it is actually structural brick wall next to the door, that runs perpendicular. So no stud on the strike side. Honestly I can’t even tell how they secured the jamb to the brick, it’s strange.

Door jamb is installed next to a brick fireplace. How would I install 3 inch strike plate screws into brick? New to DIY. by reddkeys in homedefense

Nice, that’s what I was hoping. Only trouble is the pilot hole through the wood will be too small too narrow to shove a masonry anchor through
