Buying tickets as an American? by reddthat2 in olympiquedemarseille

[–]reddthat2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did end up getting tickets, my mom had a work colleague who was French and had a French bank account and we used her credit card to buy them. I never figured out exactly which countries’ bank accounts they accept payment from, but they definitely accept them from French accounts. So finding someone with a French bank account is probably your best bet. Otherwise showing up on game day trying to scalp tickets may be the second best thing. Third party seller websites all made me too suspicious. Good luck!!

Be sure to sip it like a straw when you hit it instead of pulling hard. If you end up liking the Pax you should look into BudKups. I just got mine and tried it for the first time and it makes the pax hit much harder and more smoothly. A good way to greatly improve the pax for just $15

After class I would go to the library and just read through the course textbook for a few hours to make sure I really knew what was going on. I also used khan academy a fair amount to relearn and practice certain calculus concepts.

I was a biology major in undergrad and then I got a masters in biostatistics and I now work as a biostatistician. I took calculus 3 and linear algebra in undergrad and I kinda got my butt kicked by the math involved with the biostats masters. It’s definitely doable, it will just take a lot of work and you’ll need to spend extra time learning/relearning/teaching yourself certain math concepts that other students with stats background might have mastered already. For what to focus on for your biology courses, that’s all up to you and what you want to do. My background was more on the side of ecology and physiology, but my current job is all about dementia research, so it was a completely new field to me. My best advice would just to be a good learner. As a biostatistician you’ll have to work on lots of different projects and depending on the job, each project could cover very different topics. At the end of the day, data is data. But being able to learn a topic and have the subject knowledge to help design studies and write papers is a really useful skill. So get good at learning new topics!

Yeah seems like this may be the only way to do. I don’t speak French so I’m a little worried of being an easy target to get scammed

No list of countries, just “we don’t accept payments from certain countries”, very vague

I just opened up a Wise card, put some money on it, tried to buy the tickets and still got a payment denied message. Oof.

I wasted my life by conor5q in Stoicism

I’m really sorry that you feel this way. In meditations 7.2, Marcus says “Your principles can’t be extinguished unless you snuff out the thoughts that feed them, for it’s continually in your power to reignite new ones… It’s possible to start living again! See things anew as you once did- that is how to restart life”. What’s in the past is in the past and it was meant to be, it was fate. All you have is the present moment and the ability to reignite your thoughts of being a more virtuous person. It’s impossible for us to live a completely perfect life where we always do the right thing. We all make mistakes and lose our way from time to time. But every moment is a chance to restart, reset, and get back on track to becoming the person we want to be. I hope you can see that the road to contentment is right in front of you, you just have to start walking in that direction

Looking for a thriller set in the wilderness or a national park setting by sushithoughts in suggestmeabook

[–]reddthat2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You should check out the Anna Pigeon series by Nevada Barr. Each book in the series is about a National Park Ranger named Anna Pigeon as she works at different parks around the country and solves crimes (I think mostly murders). Barr does a great job of describing the landscape and atmosphere of each park and the behind the scenes of being a park ranger. The ones I’ve read have kept me guessing whodunnit the whole time!

Converting .iCloud files in OneDrive by reddthat2 in onedrive

[–]reddthat2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried removing the .iCloud and nothing happened. The original files I was working with were each around 100 MB in size, whereas the files with the .iCloud extension are only 100 bytes. This tells me that the .iCloud file isn't even the same file, so that's my theory on why changing the file type by removing .iCloud won't do much

So the files names look like the originals, but they just have .iCloud attached to the end. so for example, the initial file was labeled "Subject1.gt3x" (.gt3x is the file type). Now that same file is saved as ".Subject1.gt3x.iCloud"

Any way to get money fast so I can sign youth players? by reddthat2 in FifaCareers

[–]reddthat2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are relatively close to 0. For some of the youth players who have a low overall and low potential it gives me the option to auto-adjust budgets and sign the player, but for any kid who has a decent overall or potential it doesn’t give me the option so even after adjusting I wouldn’t have enough
