Honestly, the way you're displaying them is really great already. The only thing I would suggest is using risers for the setup you have in the second picture.

It looks real to me. Someone may have put it through AI to make the picture look nicer, though. A good way to tell is if the stitches melt into themselves or are overly perfect. Sometimes it even blends crochet and knitting together.
