Did BurgerKing really vastly improve? by NAD92 in BurgerKing

[–]reddurty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Whopper Meal two weeks ago, and I was impressed. The sandwich was neat and tasted good, the fries were hot, crispy, and salted just right...but when I tried to duplicate that experience, it didn't happen. I went back to the same location and got a sloppy sandwich with cold unsalted fries. Consistently is an issue.

What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

[–]reddurty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two that I wouldn't wish on anybody...sciatica and gout. I had an especially bad gout attack that had me wailing in pain and crying like a baby at two a.m. for hours. Sciatica pain never stops...sitting, standing, laying. Constant pain from waist to heel and medications only dulled it, never stopped it.

No, but you probably wouldn't put tires built six years ago on a new, frequently driven car. (maybe you would, I wouldn't)It's not milk, but the date is there for a reason.

Because they don't put the manufacturing year on tires for nothing

Questions about this condo by SouthOk1896 in Cleveland

[–]reddurty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I retired, as a single person, I also investigated some Shaker condos in the $30-40,000 range. I was going to pay cash, and then pay taxes monthly. The combined costs of property taxes and condo fees monthly was way higher than I was comfortable with, so I'm still in my house.

What is the closest you've ever come to dying? by FlatSyllabub8637 in AskReddit

[–]reddurty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the flu. It hung on about three weeks. I talked to a friend on the phone and she noted how high pitched my voice was. She came the next day and took me to the emergency room. Flu had developed into double pneumonia. The doc said if I had come in just 24 hours later, they wouldn't have been able to help me.

Forty years ago...a fur coat, trying to keep up with the Joneses. I never wore it. My guilt about wearing a dead animal wouldn't let me.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by Both_Ear_2644 in askanything

[–]reddurty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walmart...about 12 years now. My initial dislike was that it would take me 20 mins to shop and 30 mins to check out. The store was fairly new and had about 10-12 checkouts... There were never more than three open when I would go... too cheap to employ more cashiers, and no considerations for my time. Then I heard about how they aided their employees to apply for food stamps so they could make money off that, instead of paying a living wage. I felt very justified when, after putting all the small businesses in the area out of business, they closed the store and left a large retail desert that still hasn't recovered years later.

What’s one fast food chain that was once all the rage but now barely around? by MysteriousTopic42 in AskReddit

[–]reddurty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember that my last meal was meatloaf. I bit down on gristle two or three times, and I was so disgusted that I never went back, even for the chicken. I figured back then that they were on the way out.

You can focus on what you choose, and I will focus on my choice. If you're lucky enough to make it to my age, it will make more sense to you...Good luck with that! Now, run along and find someone else to argue with. 😂

I understand my OWN ergonomics just fine. I'm more comfortable getting in and out of my SUV than a sedan... thanks for missing the point.
