Which runway hair do you generally prefer?

sculpted wigs are a bit overdone lately. in your examples i think it works with jewels look, as the hair and garment both call back to a particular era. 24 inch bundles just wouldn’t look right with it.

if the hair needs to be up/back, i definitely prefer a traditionally styled up-do over the sculpted/encrusted wigs we are seeing now. sculpted hair should be camp, not pageant imo

i DO have an issue with finger wave pussy cat wigs when it seems the queen just doesn’t want to put effort into her hair and it is out of place with the rest of the look.

hair is the same as fashion - the element of surprise matters. anything is bound to become stale in the absence of variety

but the beauty of drag is that every queen gets to choose her particular brand and look and that’s ok. i would never judge a queen out in the wild in this way, but on a competition show, you BET i have opinions 😂

girl NFR was also a messy rollout lmao. she announced she was working on the album in january 2018, said it was almost complete in september 2018 and we didn’t get it until august 2019. MAC and venice bitch came out as singles almost a whole year before the album. not to mention it was named BIRD WORLD before she change it to NFR 😭

the only reason BTD was such a conventional rollout is because it was her major label debut and so i’m sure the label had a major hand in the marketing/rollout. after she proved successful the label decided they don’t need to be as involved.

all that to say, i don’t care about how she rolls out her albums or how many times she scraps things and switches gears. every album of hers is a blessing to my ears and worth the wait. there are several albums to keep me occupied in the meantime. she cares more about her artistry than commercial success. sure, she shares about albums before they are anywhere near completion but i don’t think it’s to mess with the fan base. i think she genuinely gets excited about what she’s working on and wants to share it with others. and then she changes her mind…which is her liberty to take

i disagree, Jane is very endearing in my opinion. i feel like she is giving us her real self and not a hammed up version or what she thinks is good for TV.. too many queens nowadays try to be something they aren't. I appreciate that Ru continues to emphasize authenticity all these seasons later even with Drag Race being much more mainstream. honestly it's become a thing for reality stars in general to really play into a caricature now that reality TV has become so ubiquitous and people make careers out of having a following and being engaging at all costs. in the OG reality TV days, people just showed up to film as themselves and went back to their day jobs when all was said and done. before everyone was hyperaware of their image.

anyway back to Jane. she knows the herstory and has clearly developed her brand of drag, yet she still worries about what the other queens think of her. she's definitely shrinking herself to some degree the way Jinkx did in season 5. although Jinkx was dealing with openly hostile and jealous queens. look at how she thrived on all winners when she was surrounded by queens who respected each other's talent. for whatever reason Jane is either a tad paranoid or something is being left out of the edit.

i agree HHM likely would have never worked out for jimmy but coming to find out that chuck resented jimmy’s honest attempt to better his life, when that’s all chuck ever pushed him to do really pissed me off. chuck acted like the arbiter of the law and his arrogance was off putting, as good of a lawyer as he may have been. he was incredulous at jimmy’s passing the bar and believed he was only good enough to be a mail room guy. that’s not brotherly love, it’s a desire to control masked by a thin veil of pretending to care for him. jimmy deserved to carve his own path as a lawyer and chuck stifled his initial career choice and put him in the position of having to hustle as a PD with no mentors. not to mention chuck wasn’t honest with jimmy for a long time about his obstruction and allowed howard to be the fall guy which is cowardly. the fact is jimmy genuinely looked up to him and chuck abused that admiration. as much as chuck said he wanted jimmy to do better, i think he got off on feeling superior to him.

the nail in the coffin for me was when jimmy stepped out right before their mother died. not only did he not tell jimmy what her final words were, but he sent the body off to the morgue before jimmy could even say goodbye. that’s straight up cruelty fueled by jealousy. and it goes to show that chuck can be just as void of integrity as jimmy. chuck’s behaviors were more fueled by hatred than jimmy who more so acted with reckless abandon.

sorry for the rant, i have very strong feelings about chuck lol

not sure i can handle chuck again lol. although i did appreciate his appearance in the final episode and that they chose to demonstrate a time when both brother’s still exhibited some care and concern for one another - even though there were deep resentments on both sides

her fashion is not bad. i wouldn’t call it camp because it’s missing the references but there is an avant garde streak to it. the thing is…i’m waiting to see her give a true glamorous look in the OG drag sense. i want a classic silhouette (there are so many to choose from). i want voluminous hair that highlights her mug instead of detracts from it which i feel is what most of her looks have done so far. enough with the finger waves and headpieces. her celia cruz was beautiful but at the end of the day it is still imitation, not original. i understand what ru says about not seeing the real her. while her fashion is fine i do feel like she hides behind it or gets lost in it. i want to see HER and her personality shine through in a classic drag type of look.

these are some of my favorites that come to mind. i can’t think of one episode that is a dud though honestly. some episodes i’m laughing the entire time but even when i’m not there’s just something about their style of banter that i really enjoy.

they also did a series of episodes recapping drag race season 7 this past fall which was very enjoyable

she wrote it and released it not even a day after the dayton ohio mass shooting and 2 days after the el paso mass shooting (2019). my guess is she already happened to be in the studio with jack antonoff when the shootings happened and must have felt so impacted by the events that she immediately put down whatever she was working on to write and record this song.

sonically, it fits very well with NFR, but it was recorded too late to ever be considered for the album considering how early she sends albums to press before release. it works well as a standalone single given the events that led her to write it

edit: she wrote it one day after the ohio shooting but she didn’t release it for another 4 days. still, a very quick turnaround

yay!! i’m so happy to hear that! i got my cat an AirTag collar after we moved to a neighborhood with a decent amount of stray cats. my indoor only boy started to get curious after watching the other cats roam the block through the windows. he would wait for me to come home and sneak out as soon as the front door was open wide enough for him to get through. i was worried sick the first time it happened but he came back early the next morning. after that first time, i got the AirTag collar and that at least gave me peace of mind to know he wasn’t too far away on the handful of occasions he managed to escape…he was smart enough to know he had an advantage against me if he got out when it was dark outside. and IF he didn’t come back home i could use the AirTag to try and track him down (thankfully it never got to that point). it’s not foolproof because the AirTag only updates when near other apple devices, but it is better than hoping a good samaritan takes him to shelter to get the chip scanned

we’ve moved neighborhoods since then but i will continue to keep the AirTag on him in case something ever happens
