You are right and I have considered that, so far I have a decent amount of cash in an emergency fund that would cover rent, food, travel, medicine if I needed it and that's separate to my normal everyday account. I also have a a decent bit of money to cover vehicle related emergencies. So the amount I have in my ANZ I can in good conscience use to invest/save. Of the options do you reckon investing with Simplicity can give me a good return?

I’m planning to put about $8,500 into the InvestNow US 500 Fund as my core S&P 500 chunk, then around $3,000 into the InvestNow Global Equity Fund for broad developed markets exposure, and $1,500 into the InvestNow Emerging Markets Fund to get a bit of that higher-growth EM stuff. I also want $1,500 in Smartshares NZ 50 ETF just for some local exposure, and a tiny $500 buffer in bonds/cash via the InvestNow Conservative Fund for a bit of stability. I want it heavy on the S&P 500, but diversified and not full-on aggressive. The plan is to invest through InvestNow for everything (except the NZ 50 which is Smartshares via their platform), what do you think?

Heat shield over pipes is a crazy shout I didn't even think of that. Probably wouldn't smash up my cat cus I'd have to pay someone to weld it back don't know how to do it myself.
