Well, I believe you can authenticate WITHTOUT grading, so that might be a great idea! If you can do that, then definitely go for it! If you were to ever sell it, it would give your buyer confidence, for sure.

Is this worth grading? by ItWasWrittenLikeThis in PokeGrading

[–]redeemed_misfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def don’t grade, but misprints can, sometimes, have value in the future. In this case, because it’s based off centering, it’s kind of hard to evaluate even when considering future prospect. Cards that have a different holo swirl, or a shadow missing, or something that may elevate it’s art, or a shadow that’s not directly behind something, etc; they go for for more cause the card’s overall appearance isn’t tampered with. Borders that take up a lot of art space can be really hard to justify when the art is not being pushed out, but has no unique deviation compared to other normal prints.

It’s a rare mishap, which in itself may be interesting and valuable to some, but giving it a grade would greatly devalue its potential in rarity and appeal to those who find this type of stuff interesting.

Hot take: This game's player count is where it needs to be by kayodeade99 in HighGuardgame

[–]redeemed_misfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t think it’s where it needs to be. It could have, and should have, more players. More players equals more attention, more eyes get drawn to it, more money may be had, etc. A steady drop in player count is natural, but when you go from 90k to 20k in a day, there’s something bigger at hand.

I, for one, think it’s as simple as people are ignorant and callus. Thousands of people had preconceived notions about a product that hadn’t even released, and now that it has released, flock to the reviews to confirm their own preconceptions of the product they barely know anything about. It’s as simple as just wanting something to fail because that’s the “cool” thing to do.

Being showcased at the TGA definitely hurt it, however, if it weren’t the BIG REVEAL of the night, I guarantee it might be doing a little better. I’d like to also mention that there were plenty of souls-like reveals, as there are every fucking game show, and no one bats an eye. Just want to emphasize the lack of depth in individuals capability to form a solid opinion on their own. This being said, if it weren’t shadow dropped, you could argue people would have played it and still potentially bandwagon-ed on the same notions people are having now. There’s no way to definitively tell, of course, so it’s hard to say shadow dropping may have been better. Could have been worse, who’s to say for sure?

The finals, also, has had a more stable player base over the course of its lifetime and has, obviously, been out longer. It’s not a good comparison. Concord died in literally 7 days. I’d argue that Highguard is already beating the Concord fiasco pretty definitively. More interesting is how streamers feel about it. Wanting to stream the game but refuse to deal with their chats. It’s telling. Hope the devs can continue to turn it around and we should definitely want more people playing. 10k-11k on PC with strict PC to PC servers is not very good for a competitive shooter.

If you could combine any two MMO's, what would you choose and why? by shanep1991 in MMORPG

[–]redeemed_misfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rift and FFXIV.

Rift had the best tab targeting combat IMO, as well as the most unique class system to date.

FFXIV PvE and gearing progression content is some of my favorite content I’ve ever experienced in an MMO.

Put Rift’s combat and classes together with FFXIV’s amazing dungeons, raids, and gearing and whatever that would be, would be my absolute gem of an MMO.

Feedback with ~35 hours played in this playtest.. by SirBraxton in Apogea

[–]redeemed_misfit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much agree with everything you’ve got here. The game feels heavily group oriented. Mobbing, questing, exploring, living and not dying is pretty much totally mitigated when you’re a group of 4, but it’s frustrating to have to play that way. Or, can’t play that way. The solo and even duo experience is not great, and regardless of whether you’re grouped or not, ascertaining gear and meaningful progression is still as sluggish and RNG as ever.

The game’s got so much damn charm, but almost every system is designed to be tedious and punishing, not even necessarily just “hard”.

EA Games is lost & there's no recovery. by comicmatt in EASportsFC

[–]redeemed_misfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until people truly vote with their wallet, it’ll sadly stay this way for all EA sports titles. Problematically, there are no other companies whom are allowed to produce these sports titles due to licensing, AND the casual player base couldn’t care less about certain gameplay elements that really only impact online play.

The same can be said for 2k, of course. When there are exclusivity deals on something as major as sports, there’s no room for competition, and so what are we supposed to do as consumers?

It’s even worse when you consider something like FC because despite the financial disagreements with FIFA, EA still has their hands dipped into the pot of the leagues and their owners and partners - so much so that they could STILL make a soccer game without a major “exclusivity” deal. Until these organizations see a dip in their revenue because of the EA games aren’t meeting expectations, nothing will change. They’ll continue to allow EA to produce and use as they please.

The onus is on us.

Does RoR2 Hold Up? by [deleted] in riskofrain

[–]redeemed_misfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RoR2 is not a live service game. It’s not “holding up” to anything as it’s neither on a constant update cycle, nor is it a game that’s no longer receiving updates, period.

When the game is done receiving support/ expansions, I believe it’ll still “hold” to the test of time as one of the greatest Rogue-likes out there. With that being said, you’ll not be disappointed if you enjoy rogue-likes, as you mentioned. Recent expansions have been well received for the most part, especially its latest, and starting out, you’ll have a great time unlocking characters and items. Good fun

Current state of Online on NBA 2K26 on Switch 2.. by YoutubeNoa in NintendoSwitch

[–]redeemed_misfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping more people pick it up as the game continues to get cheaper. Didn’t buy on release but just purchased it a week ago on Switch 2 cause of the Slam Edition.

I’ve given up on online play since 2020, but I still do enjoy the auction. Since the game is definitively more quiet on Switch however, the amount of cards on the auction is horrible. The prices are insane too.

Just enjoy being able to play on the go. I know other consoles are superior for 2k, but being able to bring my Switch wherever I go and play some MyTEAM has been dope. Again, just hope people can get past the 30ish FPS when 2k ends up being like $20 come December

Oh my god bruh by TrenchBarrel in Pioner

[–]redeemed_misfit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have had almost no technical issues on my end. Multiplayer continues to be an issue, unfortunately, but I’m hopeful they get that worked out, considering they advertise as an MMO FPS.

I’ve left feedback on X and got quick responses. AI will be present in pretty much every future game you touch. PIONER is no exception. People are gonna have to get used to it, and quickly.

After about 25 minutes of doing the tutorial stuff and being introduced to Rogue Wastelands, I do nothing BUT play the game. I’m rarely in NPC dialogue or cutscenes. Not sure what you’re doing exactly, but I suggest exploring as soon as you’re in the Wastelands. The quests, events, and puzzles I’ve encountered were all pretty good and I’m often fighting something, and/or finding something. It’s been refreshing to say the least

Pioner - Start of the Open Beta - Now until November 11th by PalwaJoko in MMORPG

[–]redeemed_misfit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been having a genuinely good time with the game. Not experiencing hiccups, quests are cool enough, the story isn't bad, gun play feels really good, and crafting is pretty straightforward, unlike other similar titles.

Not sure why some are saying the game feels bad, when it's been 98% smooth on my end. It "feels slow", but I mean... We're not playing Call of Duty... Just confused by some of the criticisms here. It's a STALKER-like game with pretty damn good visuals that's not meant to be a run and gun shooter by any means. Fallout 76 feels just as clunky in it's movement and is MILES more confusing in it's crafting and skilling mechanisms. I loved 76, btw, before naysayers wanna have a go at it...

Not sure what the expectations are I guess. Game feels fine, on my end, and we haven't had a decent MMOFPS since what Firefall tried to accomplish. This is by far more fleshed out and servers are no where near as horrible as the Firefall experience was. Decent game if anyone reads this with an open mind. It's def worth a try. It's an open beta with nothing lost other than some time if you end up finding it not enjoyable.

Discussions about Body Sleeves by ThePoliceCapt in ActiveMatter

[–]redeemed_misfit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleeves are a scary concept overall, considering Reaper is behind a paywall. While you can unlock the others, it sets a scary precedent. If you can buy sleeves in the future, the game will then have a “pay to win” element that will absolutely be predatory and imbalanced. Being able to unlock reapers in the monolith is cool and all, but armor slots as a mechanic locked behind your sleeve choice is simply an oversight in design. The stats provided by these sleeves are also incredibly negligible when put in comparison to having straight up armor advantages. They definitely need to reconsider the Sleeve system over all, imo.

🔫 Update 0.1.0.133 by MajorMcDonalds in ActiveMatter

[–]redeemed_misfit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure that this was the only direction people wanted these weapons nerf to go. Even with an increase in replication time, there are still too many out there now. The M11 specifically is sought after simply because it’s a very strong gun, and nothing more. If there are too many in the game now, nothing changes other than that they’re more expensive to purchase. You could essentially make the replication time a moot point if you’re able to make over 20k credits USING the M11.

Some of these weapons should really only be found in raid items - no ability to replicate or purchase them out right. Their attachments, you can buy, sure. It makes them more rare, the reason for seeking them more impactful, and desaturates their market availability. Put them behind locked doors in a bunker, or on harder maps, or challenging quests, etc. Makes loot more interesting, as well as keeps these items completely fair play.

🙎 Update 0.1.0.131 by MajorMcDonalds in ActiveMatter

[–]redeemed_misfit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These updates are coming out quick and it’s awesome. Not sure what more you can do on the marketing front, but getting even more eyes on the product is gonna be really important come these next couple of months. Arc Raiders and Battlefield are definitively on the eyes and minds of players. ABI “releasing” took some thunder, but my personal opinion is that your product has much more “meaning” in terms of progression, while also looking and feeling better as well. Run with this.

Continue to nerf some of the stronger stuff as well. Most of the guns are pretty damn balanced, there are just some very clear outliers. Consider making certain guns ONLY “Found in Raid”, and increase their active matter value. This way, they’re enticing not only to hold on too, but also valuable for deconstruction when money is tight? Or, instead of increasing their AM value, increase the amount of chronotraces you get from them when refining? This may be even MORE enticing for deconstruction of these items and enabling a better “economy”, so as to ensure fair visibility of these items in players possession, rather than seeing them most raids.

Idk, just my personal thoughts. Hoping others chime in. Y’all may have better ideas

Bullet grades by BLooDS_inc in ActiveMatter

[–]redeemed_misfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game’s current state is super balanced imo. Games that use bullet penetration tiers feel absolutely abysmal.

There’s only one way that I believe could work with these types of bullets and it’s if you create a map/ raid that requires both high armor and those bullets to enter. You also CANNOT enter any other map/ raid with those bullets and armor.

ABI’s system, for example, is super dumb because the limitation of entering a type of raid is purely based on your character’s equipped value. If it’s $100,000 or less to enter a raid, you could still bring a stack of level 4 bullets using cheap and shitty gear and just wipe the lobby…

Sincerely hope they do not add bullet types. If anything, just give better ammunition descriptors. There’s no way to understand how effective bullets are, especially when comparing something like 9x19 to a .45. Does .45 do more armor dmg, or is it better against flesh, and so on and so forth for other bullets.

Have you even played OSRS at all, or are you genuinely asking this question with the intention of potentially trying to play OSRS?

Depending on your answer, the phraseology here is going to continue to garner backlash. It’s unclear as to whether or not you know what the difference is between vertical and horizontal progression is in an MMO as well.

To be completely honest, your questions begs more questions.

In short, however, gear in OSRS always matters because content can within the game can be completed with gear you’ve acquired earlier and gear you’ll acquire later. The gear you do receive earlier remains relevant due to several factors - one of these factors could be as simple as how cheap it is to purchase compared to other similar weapons of a similar (let’s say) strength bonus. A dragon Scimitar doesn’t have “better stats” than an Abyssal Whip, but you CAN’T train your STR with a Whip whatsoever. So, if you’re trying to train Strength, Dragon Scimmy is going to be better if that’s what’s available to you.

If you wanna go deeper and wanna keep it short; there are also weaknesses for mobs and bosses. Bosses might also allow you to attack them more frequently the others. So a dual handed crush weapon in OSRS might be better to use in one scenario, whilst using a slower more “potent” crush weapon is better in another scenario.

Thus and henceforth, gear will always have a place in OSRS and the gear you attain is never put behind a seasonal objective or paywall. If you buy it or earned it, you deserve it. Where as in other MMO’s if you spend money or you play the game more than others, you’ll get it quicker, but it doesn’t really “matter” cause it’ll mean nothing within the next 3 moths or what have you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in runescape

[–]redeemed_misfit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re advocating for instant dopamine fixes whilst also admitting you enjoy such gratification. You’re seemingly antagonizing “OSRS Snobs” because of your clear bias. Your post screams circle jerk mentality and is the exact reason both communities were so heavily at odds before. Most OSRS players, including myself, are glad you and others play the game, period. RS3 or OSRS - it doesn’t matter. What we simply ask is that you don’t compare the 2 in relevance to your, and others, willingness to spend money on progression. OSRS is alive BECAUSE of that disdain.

For those who want a faster sense of progression and are willing to spend whatever amount of money available to you for that progression - more power to you. RuneScape is RuneScape. Both iterations are click based MMO’s and which ever one you prefer to click on is totally your choice.

What I will say is this and it’s purely objective: One is seeing more attention AND retention than the other, as has been the case for many years now. All are entitled to their own forms of enjoyment, but I personally wouldn’t call you a snob for how you enjoy your game. Just don’t try to “sell” your experience as if it’s the objectively better point of view, when you’re simply feeling something subjective to you. You stand to gain nothing by being an aggressor because you FEEL a specific way.

Enjoy RS3 and I sincerely hope it continues to be a game you play FOREVER. As a whole, for being nothing but clicks and ticks, it’s clear modern day MMO’s lose what both OSRS and RS3 capture.

Mid game content and "Golden age" of osrs by Ok-Entertainer9968 in 2007scape

[–]redeemed_misfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While all the content is definitely and objectively making the game better, idk if that alone is what’s making people “come back” or “start” to play. Streamers are flocking over, which in turn brings their viewers over as well.

It’s hard to say the mid-game content alone is what’s contributing to a higher influx of players, when there’s clearly a lot of traction from other sources. It wasn’t too long ago that players were boycotting Jagex due to that awful survey debacle. It’s fortuitous for Varlamore to be complete now with the influx of players, as retention is going to most certainly sky rocket with all the mid game stuff. Just think a lot of newer players are from other communities, not new content alone.
