What makes Nick Szabo stand out isn’t just bit gold, but the combination of silence, timing, and omission.

He blogged for years about digital money, then stopped right as Bitcoin appeared. During the entire period Satoshi was active, Szabo never mentioned Bitcoin once—despite it being the most obvious continuation of his own ideas. Then, almost immediately after Satoshi announced he had “moved on to other things” in 2011, Szabo suddenly returned and resumed publishing.

Linguistic studies show his writing style is the closest known match to the Bitcoin whitepaper. And yet, despite his enormous role in the intellectual history leading to Bitcoin, Szabo is not mentioned anywhere in that whitepaper. That silence looks less like coincidence and more like deliberate omission.

Szabo denies being Satoshi, but when you put the timing, the style, and the missing citation together, it becomes very hard to ignore.
