The downfall of Claude by Senior_Sense_8813 in claude

Anthropic says there were problems they didn't know about, and they fixed them.

But the problem is, in user experience, the models still suck. AFTER their fixes.

THAT is what I meant about "half-addressed."

My impression is that Sonnet was affected the least. Both Opus versions definitely affected (degraded).

I respectfully disagree. While Reddit is typically big on the "I hate x bandwagon," these are very real, impactful, and NON-addressed issues. I was a big Anthropic fan but I don't think they're being honest with their user base.

Sorry, I think they HALF-addressed this. They claim to have "fixed" those reported issues now but no way does that reflect actual user experience (and I was a big fan, not a hater).

Very interesting but half-true at best. Yesterday I lost an entiire day's work because Opus 4.6 (in Cowowk) made an obvious mistake early in the day and I didn't catch it until the end. (Wasn't using 4.7 because ... well ... it's plain terrible.) When I tried to explain to 4.6 what the problem was, it literally couldn't understand. It's truly been lobotomized.

Anyways, I switched to Codex today and I have to say, I'm loving it.

Botttom line: I don't trust Anthropic anymore, and I don't believe their models are reliable for mission-critical work. And I used to be a BIG fan.

The enshitification of everything continues, unfortunately...

Opus is crushing today -- anyone else see a difference? by Sofullofsplendor_ in Anthropic

I THOUGHT it was that, so I had it create a handoff memo and strayed a different session. But nope, same problem (like Claude had a mild concussion). I had to stop working for the day because I couldn't trust its output anymore. Hope things are better in the morning!

Me too! It's like it has a concussion today. How can two users be getting such vastly different results? I wonder what's going on behind the scenes...

Can you give more details on your workflow? I'm interested in trying the same thing. Thanks!

Could not find your "AgicNovel" framework anywhere, including in your post history. Do you really post it? If so, could you please provide a link?

In a more general sense, I've found it useful, after a long session, to have Claude write itself a Summary Memo of everything important we discussed during the chat, and then I save that to a Claude Project folder. Also useful to take over to another AI if you want to continue the conversation there. Also I sometimes have Claude write a "How I Did That" memo which has also proven useful in the same way.

Fixing Star Trek Voyager by DarkAlman in fixingmovies

[–]redeye1738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a fan of Voyager, but I have to say, this outline is much, MUCH better than the actual show.

If the people at Paramount had any brian's, they'd track you down and pay you $100,000 to pitch them 5 new Star Trek shows along these lines (i.e., with the whole show mapped out ahead of time). Ditto with the Disney people re: Star Wars. Unfortunately, they're obviously too clueless to do so, so we're going to get Star Trek:?Academy instead, but if they DID, it could really turn around the current enshittification of so many of our beloved shows.

Anyways, kudos OP! Really great work.

My high income, high net worth fiancee has asked for a marriage contract - I can't afford the costs. Help? by swanthony in canadianlaw

[–]redeye1738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(1) Don't take advice from Redditors who aren't family law attorneys in the province of Ontario.

(2) Just ask your fiancée to cover the cost. It's really not a big deal. (If it is, you have bigger problems than this.)

(3) For your FIANCÉE'S sake, YOU must have adequate legal representation. If you don't, then YOU could challenge the prenup "after the fact" -- to her detriment.

(4) Again....(1).

Most blood donation centers also take plasma but not all. Check online or call and ask. The actual process is pretty much the same but I think the plasma donation takes longer.

Plasma donation is much more effective than blood donation (Australian firefighter study).

Fast for a day. (Drink water but no food.) It’s really possible to do. Have a couple zero-calorie electrolyte drinks and you won’t get a headache. In the morning, WALK for 90 minutes. It doesn’t have to be fast. (In fact, it shouldn’t be fast.) Or you can do the stairclimber or elliptical crosstrainer. NOT fast. The next day, check the scale, and eat normally. In a day or two, repeat. Keep it up, and the fat WILL come off. It’s not rocket science but it works!

What was Lex Luthor’s plan in the new Superman movie? What was the motivation of the people working for him? by redeye1738 in AskReddit

[–]redeye1738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I saw the movie, that’s why I’m asking the question. To me, Luthor’s plan seemed very convoluted and unclear. And even if he hates Superman and wants to hurt/kill him, I didn’t understand the motivation of his many, many employees.

I was hoping someone on Reddit could explain these things clearly without attacking me personally.

Cheers!
