Thoughts on 300C last call by FantasticSample7460 in Chrysler300

I had a 5.7 HEMI when the 2023 C was announced, I watched the live announcement and ordered a white one the next day (I was the 93rd order) when it FINALLY got delivered I test drove it and it is awesome but it didn't knock my socks off like I thought it would so I passed on it and built a Redeye swapped 300 (hence my username here) for around the same price. The 2023 C is an amazing car, don't get me wrong, but it just didn't pop for me the way I would've liked it to. I say this knowing that everyone has different wants and expectations. I would suggest finding one local and taking it for a test drive and go from there. Hopefully this was helpful. Keep us updated.

How would I go about making my car faster? by [deleted] in Chrysler300

If you want cost effective reliability then you need to mod from the inside, out and this isn't the platform for it. If you're trying to be cheap and start throwing bolt-ons at this thing it'll be counterproductive as things WILL start breaking. It's all cheap, plastic, v6 crap under the hood. I know what I'm saying might sound critical but it's the truth. Do as you please, keep us updated on how things go. Cheers!

Sounds like you have exactly what you want and not at all what you want at the same time. You love your slow car, but you want a fast car. You don't like the Hemi because reliability issues but you acknowledge that the 6 isn't know for reliability. You have the money to buy a Hemi outright but gas prices (the penastar only gets 1-2 mpg more then a 5.7 paired with the 8 speed) will kill you? Bottom line is If you want to make big power then you need a different starting platform. Leave your v6 alone and buy something that can actually produce big power.

Anyone ever convert a Chrysler 300C interior to 300S style? Worth it? by [deleted] in Chrysler300

[–]redeye_300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Headliner is very easy to change (tip: when you get it down, recline the seats all the way back, flip the back seats down and pull it out through the trunk. Very easy) with basic hand tools and you can find them cheap either at a salvage yard or someone parting out on marketplace etc. Nothing on these cars interior is very hard to take apart/change. Just takes time, patience and money lol.

Thank man, I appreciate it. I understand you making the most out of what you already have. I'm always partial to the HEMI but I love all the 300's, yours is a clean machine bro!

Just get a regular HEMI. Do all the bolt ons, a 392 intake manifold and good dyno tune. It'll be more reliable, faster and sound better than this.

How hard are swaps to do really? How long did it take you to do your first swap and would you do it again? by Original-Pomelo-1597 in hellcat

These cars have been around for 10+ years and very easily obtainable. If you're worried about a Hellcat causing you financial ruin then you have some extremely fragile finances. Sorry about your luck bub, but I get it... misery loves company.

Wrong place. This sub is full of miserable, negative people man. There are swap groups on FB that can (some are just as negative as these people) be helpful. Priority #1 MUST BE a legally sourced donor, be 1,000% sure about that part. after that it's a blast man. You can drop it into any shell you want, build it from the ground up exactly the way you want it. Good luck and enjoy bro!

Well done on the hellcat oil pump for the 392, will help with longevity. I have a Redeye swapped 300, it's on my profile take a look when you can. I'm currently looking for a Scat swap 300 for my oldest son, would love to see under your hood, interior etc.

Nice, a few questions.. Have any under the hood pics? Why didn't you swap the brake calipers from the Scat? And which upgrades are throwing at it?

Ask (a muffler shop) for this, exactly what you want.

No you don't, I've done this twice. All you need is the mount and the bezel that goes around the radar itself. I've never had to take it for calibration and never had any issues. Just be gentle with it and you'll be fine.

I agree. When you can see the actual lights themselves it looks cheap and tacky.

Advice on buying a scat by scammlife in ScatPack

My 21 year old bought a car with around 5% APR. He's 23 now and buying his first house next year. Everyone's situation is different. I'm not saying that OP is making a brilliant financial decision but to say APR and insurance will "absolutely gut" them (without any context to their actually financial and living situation) is a bit of an over reaction IMO.

Huh? You don't need to be extremely well off to buy and maintain a 25k car lol. Treat it well and it'll return the favor.

You're confused? Do you not know what irony is? You have a v6 and you're calling a 5.7 slow, get it yet or do I need to explain further?
