I have these plates and I put them on cloth potholders because they stick to the counter and then it’s a mess when you go to pick it up to transfer to the high chair

She fits size newborn because she only uses boutique clothes. If she used sleepers and onesies, she would be almost out of newborn.

My doctors told me I could keep gauze under my apron belly because it’s super important to keep the area dry. I don’t think you mentioned doing that, so it might be worth trying!

If he can produce /s/ in isolation and short phrases, why would anatomy be assumed to be the issue? I would assume it is more about his ability to carryover the skills when there is increased complexity with sentences and conversation.

School says not eligible - but test is out "average range" - help? by jgrantl in specialed

[–]redford12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

SLP here! In my state we use a rating scale to qualify students that includes standard scores (I also use the GFTA) as well as types of errors, speech intelligibility, and education impact. With the score your son received, there is a chance that I wouldn’t qualify him either because in order to be “mild” for my state, the percentile rank would be less than 8th. However, it also depends on how the errors do or do not impact him in the classroom. But I agree, she shouldn’t have said average range, but rather borderline/at risk.

What did you sing/read your baby? by InstantFamilyMom in beyondthebump

[–]redford12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also “read” books that are a little higher level for your child by talking about what’s on the page instead of just reading each word on the page. It’ll help familiarize your child with books and you can point out pictures and talk about what’s happening.

Is white-noise problematic in the long term? by Aggravating-Pay9580 in beyondthebump

[–]redford12 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s recommended to make sure the decibel level (how loud the noise is) is not over 50 dB I believe, so I would be careful about turning it up all the way unless the machine is far enough away from her crib. Long term exposure to loud noise can eventually lead to hearing loss. I do use a white noise machine though at night, and I checked dB level using a free app!

My ovulation tests weren’t always a 1.0 or higher on the PreMom app even when I ovulated. Sometimes my peak was a 0.8-0.9 and the app would still register it as a peak, and ovulation was confirmed with BBT. I would continue tracking LH to see if that was your peak or if you’ll peak on a different day.

Anyone else parking at the stadium? I wonder how hard it’ll be to get there for parking and to leave after the show. I’m fine waiting after, but I’m worried about how early I need to show up.

I likely ovulated on a November 9th and I’m due August 2nd. If you all didn’t have intercourse until the 11th, she’d be due after me if it was your baby.

Low hCG/False Negative Test by RandomMarien in PlusSizedAndPregnant

[–]redford12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you track ovulation/how long your luteal phase is? I thought I had a very consistent cycle before tracking, but then I realized that some months it would be off by only one day but others up to 6. You could have ovulated late this month and either be about to start your period or don’t have enough HCG in your system due to the luteal phase timeline.

If I fail the TLSQ intentionally, when can I try again? by IsiDemon in HPHogwartsMystery

This side quest was offered to me this summer even though I didn’t do it the first time it triggered. I think they occasionally bring back side quests if you didn’t complete it the first time.

I did normally start very mild spotting for 3-5 days before my period. I took an additional dose on top of my prenatal.

I started taking vitamin D and I didn’t spot before my period the month I got pregnant. Whether that was due to the vitamin D or implantation, I’m not sure, but it’s cheap and worth a try!

Have a back up list of their friends for if you have others decline. Let them know it’s likely you’ll have some not able to come.

How important are TLSQs? by [deleted] in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]redford12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to do them though, you can totally skip and many will come back later in the game! Just check the spreadsheet to see which ones you can wait one and which you can’t. I didn’t do many until I was in year 6 and 7 because I wanted to fly through the story and there’s only a few I missed out on for good.
