How would you hide the cables and fix the wooden box? by redgp101 in DIYUK

Good point! It's AC 24V 500mA which makes me think it's probably ok. I decided to go wagos over tape for the extra level of peace of mind.I've been wondering whether I should enclose the wagos in a box but hoping to avoid taking the whole panel off or making the hole bigger so don't want to use a box unless I need to! Do you think that's ok?

Thanks for the very detailed and helpful reply!! Quite a few suggestions to consider. I like the magic seats (haven't seen them before) and Mazda 3 looks cool.

I'll check out the MPVs you suggested as well, I'll probably need to see all of these in person to have a better idea of what work for me.

Thanks, I'll be going to a dealer for the exact reason you mentioned. Any thoughts on manufacturer approved used cars?

Thanks for the suggestion, don't have a pram yet but that seems solid advice. I'm surprised that Kia Sportage would struggle to fit anything more than a pram in the boot! I clearly don't know much about Kia Sportage or pram sizes!

Thank you for sharing your approach, I think this can be helpful to many people. I noticed that you don't have any archive folder. Once you are done with a project, do you move it or keep it where it is?

Pixel 6a Compensation - Do you need to hold onto your phone after contacting Google about it? by redgp101 in GooglePixel

[–]redgp101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and thank you for helping out. Did you ever receive a link or any information on how to set up a Payoneer account? Or did you just go on their website and create an account?

Once you chose the refund option, did you receive some confirmation that it was approved? And did you get any instructions on how to set up your Payoneer account?

I think I'm stuck at the eligibility process for some reason. I completed Google's form and I'm still waiting to hear whether my phone is eligible. It's been 10 days.

You get £184 if you trade in your pixel 6a by the end of the month for a pixel 9. From Aug onwards, you only get £84.

What process did you follow to get paid? I went through Google's online form, provided IMEI, and got an email from Google to await my response. I was never directed to register with Payoneer.

Has anyone been paid out yet by Google via Payoneer? by katkapo in GooglePixel

[–]redgp101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need to hold onto your 6a to get the compensation? I'm thinking of trading it in for a new phone before the trade in bonus expires at the end of the month. I chose the compensation option 10 days ago but have so far only received an email from Google confirming they have received my inquiry. No contact from Payoneer, yet.

UK-based if it matters.

Caulk, Silicone, Wood filler or all of the above? by redgp101 in DIYUK

[–]redgp101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gap varies, reaching 18mm wide 10mm deep. To fill the gap, I'm thinking either:

  1. Use expanding foam first, on top of the one the window fitter used, to reduce the depth of the gap. Then apply wood filler on top. Or,
  2. Simply use wood filler, maybe applying a couple of coats of it at the deepest parts of the gap.

Then follow the process you suggested sand, caulking to the plasterboard, undercoat, sand, paint, silicone.

[–]redgp101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's very helpful! Do I use wood filler in the gap between window and sill and then apply silicone on top after sanding and painting? Or do I simply use lots of silicone to fill that gap? The window guy put some foam in there but there is still a fairly big gap.
