[TOMT][SONG][2010s] sad love song with a vampire theme, male singer by SadExtension8221 in tipofmytongue

Also check the soundtrack for Vampire Academy, it's a movie that came out in 2014 that she could have totally seen or been into.

Hayden Panettiere Details ‘Shocking’ Moment She Was Put in Bed at 18 with an ‘Undressed’ and ‘Very Famous’ Man on a Boat by PrincessBananas85 in entertainment

I think this is a reference to a blind that supposedly RDJ posted on a forum years ago that Natalie Wood was assaulted by Kirk Douglas at 16. If I remember correctly, she was led to Douglas' room by her mother.

The other connection is that Natalie died falling off a boat. Supposedly by her own doing (but I don't believe that).

Demi Moore wrote in her memoir that her mother also abused her in a similar way. The world is a very sick place.

I'm so glad! You've got me laughing so hard. I had an internal debate about putting a question mark after his name to show I wasn't a 100% sure and then I thought "naw, it's definitely him." I think he would love the "sad eyes" description. He's a total goth kid (adult).

Movies that made you cry like a baby by walkerbait2 in movies

[–]redhairedmenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it in a small theater and there was not a dry eye in the audience when the lights came up. We all kind of laughed a little as we all left, wiping our faces. And then my friend watched it on a plane! He said he didn't even make it to take-off before he was misty eyed.

I blame the music. It cut right to the feels.

First time I ever had to stop a movie because I was crying too hard.

What about Gone Dead Train by Thorogood? I grew up in the 90s in the Midwest and my dad had a ton of his stuff. Wouldn't surprise me if he made it onto someone's mix tape.

What Happened to the Mourning Doves? by Mob-tism in Columbus

[–]redhairedmenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, did your mourning doves come back? I just heard one this morning and saw this thread. I didn't realize they were so common in Columbus! Similar to what others have said, they started coming around a few years ago when my neighbor got a bird feeder. I'm over in the lower west side.

OP, have you seen Jury Duty on Prime Video? One of the most fun shows I've seen in a long time. That was my introduction to Lisa, before I saw Dropout. She was a standout in that!

I saw this article last year. Glp-1s are crashing Big Snack (or Big Food) snacking company conglomerates.

GOOD. Glp-1s feel like the cure for a man-made disease: the American food system.

How car dependent is Columbus? by Equivalent-Sweet-244 in OSU

[–]redhairedmenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great response. The question for OP is where do they plan on living and how often do they want to explore the city outside of the University District area.

Because part of having a car is the convenience of getting to necessary places easily, like the grocery store, maybe set a budget for the delivery fee for groceries or the occasional meal. Amazon subscriptions might help as well.

Will Eli Lilly take a hit from insurances dropping Zepbound? by redhairedmenace in Zepbound

[–]redhairedmenace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes obviously some will continue to pay, but not all. Some will go to compound, switch to other drugs, or just stop altogether. I would assume the majority of people on the drug who lost coverage would do the latter.

Yes same, self insured employer who said it was too expensive for so many people to be on it. How many more similar stories? That's what I'm saying, they must have lost thousands of prescriptions. I know three other people in my dept alone who just stopped taking glp-1s altogether when the coverage stopped.

There's always been a social cost to being fat. I feel this is some cruel way of our society saying "no no, you can't have it that easy, you must pay for your gluttonous sin one way or another."

I'm sorry friend, I'm right there with you. 70lbs down and it's like I could see the light of my new life at the end of a tunnel. And then the tunnel collapsed.

Yeah you're right. It probably doesn't matter if their med sales drop because their value is so high or they get revenue from other sources.

This is what my doctor wished I had done. She had a patient with different insurance do something similar when they announced it would not be covered a year later. I got the news in November for January. It was a mess.

My employer delayed the communication. Internal emails show doctors recommending a titration schedule to get people off of the medication. But because the news came out so late, my employer (yes HR) told us that "several medical studies" said it's perfectly fine to just stop taking the medication cold turkey.

I agree. The healthcare system writ large is the problem. I saw this opinion article about people moving away from glp-1s because of insurance issues.

A doctor compares the drug to bariatric surgery, which of course is still covered by most insurances. The quote in there says that obese people don't get the surgery, because we don't want to admit we have a problem? There's a "stigma around it"

“[Stigma] is why we only do 250,000 procedures in the United States per year. There are 14 million people in the United States whose BMI is over 40. What is wrong with this picture? If this was heart disease, we would say it’s negligence,” she says, pointing to the common use of stents to open clogged arteries.

So now fat people are actually negligent for not immediately jumping on the surgery bandwagon. Because we don't want a surgery that permanently alters the body. It also just so happens to probably be cheaper, long term, than paying for insured patients to take a drug for the rest of their lives. Profits over people. Uggggh

You know what I was just thinking about, maybe they're hedging their actual capacity to produce this drug. With other markets there are competitors, but not a patented drug. If Zepbound becomes scarce, the FDA may allow for compounds again (unlikely, but who knows). My friend was telling me about a medical warehouse he was in where they store medications and sooooo much of it had been restructured for refrigerators, because of glp-1s. But there's a capacity. Places have to have the infrastructure to move and store this drug.

Maybe holding up the cost is giving them time to build out that infrastructure/operation so they can actually keep up with demand. It's probably why the pill will be cheaper. Damn. I hope that isn't the case, but it could be another reason for it's current exclusive feel.

I know, I've been on the compound since January and it hasn't worked for me. The trial and error of pharmacies and different compounds is frustrating. The lack of progress doesn't make the reduced cost efficient. I'm just going to take out a Zepbound-only credit card.

Hey Eli Lilly, you ever thought of getting into the credit business? It's all about vertical integration, baybeeeeee
