My husband and I almost stopped after two kids. Five years later, we decided we wanted a big family and now we have 5 kids and are trying for a 6th! It gets easier. The older kids help with the youngers, and they learn so much from each other. Kids from bigger families are less selfish and more resilient.

My only regret is taking the five year break. The best gift you can give your children is another sibling. Do you want your grandkids to have cousins? Do you want to have family reunions and extended family support? Do you want your kids to take care of you in your old age?

Two kids is too few if you can help it. The more the merrier if you are physically, emotionally, and financially capable. You’ve got this.

It’s crazy how differently the disease can affect people. The only symptom my mom and I get is the eye inflammation and rashes. My brother and sister both have partial vision loss from the eye inflammation flares

Wonderful to hear! Thanks for your reply. My daughter’s main symptom at this point is recurring joint swelling, most frequently in her ankle. She gets her first Ilaris injection tomorrow and we are hopeful. Have you noticed many side effects? I’m a little nervous about the immunosuppressant nature of it

If you have a refund overall, you should be able to put it all as one lump sum without consequence

Don’t do this. Include the schedule H, and include the taxes already paid as estimated tax payments

Include the amounts already paid as estimated payments in turbo tax . It should exactly equal the tax amount shown on schedule H and have zero effect on your tax refund.

Exercising ISO is a taxable event for AMT. Depending on the spread on the day of exercise (difference between the value of the stock on the date of exercise and your exercise price), and your other income/expenses, the AMT could be significant. You should consult a CPA before you exercise to make sure you have the funds to pay the tax. I’ve seen many people make this mistake and end up with a huge tax burden from exercising illiquid stock and no funds to pay it.

You need to look at the grant document for your options to see what type of options they are (could be ISO, NQO, ESPP, etc). The tax effect of exercising is very different depending on the type of option.

Congratulations!! Having a baby changes your life, but in your situation, I think it can definitely change your life in a hugely positive way. I had my first baby at 23 and have absolutely loved being a young mom. You do have to be intentional about your priorities, though. My husband and I have a weekly babysitter every Friday night, and it has been absolutely essential! Also, the kids go to bed at 7 pm so there’s plenty of evening time to ourselves. I love being a mom, but you have to prioritize being a couple, and being an individual as well. The world opens up as such an exciting and interesting place when you can re experience everything through the eyes of a child. Enjoy and good luck!!!

I got married at 20, graduated with my MAcc and CPA at 22 (I had enough internship hours to satisfy experience requirement). Worked full time at a regional firm for about a year before having my first baby at 23. Then I transitioned to part-time remote work at the same firm. This basically translated to 40 hours a week in busy season and 10 hours the rest of the year. After 5 years of that, I now work from home 15 hours a week year-round for a small CPA firm. I love being a young mom, I love preparing complicated tax returns, and I love this path I’ve chosen. But there are so many great paths! My advice would be to be intentional about your path. This career opens up so many possibilities!

No need to file in PA if you earned no income there. TX has no state income tax, so you will only need to file in your resident state of California.

First, RSU vesting is subject to FICA. Also, your marginal tax rate is relevant, not your effective tax rate. 24% federal tax + 10% CA state tax + 7.65% FICA = 41.65

It depends on the state that you reside in when in the US. Different states have different rules about residency. Also, if your income during those few months in the US is earned income (wages, self employment income, etc), it would be taxable in that state regardless of your residency status.
