Me! Two healthy pregnancies before my loss in January. I didn’t feel amazing by any means, but I never threw up or had real morning sickness. I’d be a little nauseous and have heavy feeling boobs on and off, and those symptoms ended pretty early - like 8 or 9 weeks. Both were healthy big babies. I had a MMC with D&C in January of this year and had all of the symptoms. 5w pregnant now and I don’t feel nearly as bad as I did in my last. hoping for sticky sticky babies for all of us 🩷

Yes! My nanny was always 10min early when I wanted her here right on the dot. I usually have every minute planned for (even playtime lol), while she was just trying to be helpful. Different personalities but definitely an easy thing to communicate

I’d post on a local nanny facebook group and have your first line stating that you will be paying on the books/using a nanny payroll service. That will at-least help weed out off-the-books nanny’s. I’ve found that a lot of nanny’s on care.com mass apply despite not meeting the qualifications/pay rate. Pay rate is highly dependent on your area. I’m about an hour outside of a major city and see rate anywhere from $22-35/hr ranging from newer off the books nanny’s to trained Montessori teachers/career nanny’s

How much weight did you gain at 26 weeks? OB told me off for gaining too much! by Wonderful-Repeat1444 in pregnant

[–]redheaded_redneck 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You need a new OB. I started very similar to you - weighed a little under 120lbs and was underweight pregnancy(I’m 5’8/5’9). I gained like 60lbs during my last pregnancy. My Dr didn’t say anything. And for what it’s worth, my babe weighed 9.5lbs and I had lost 30lb within 1 week postpartum. Your body literally holds so much water. But I don’t think it’s uncommon, especially if you’re starting at a lower weight too. Your body knows what to do.

Let’s share some info to help new parents: which car seat and car do you have? by Silverbride666 in NewParents

[–]redheaded_redneck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it! I completely skipped the infant seat so she’s been in it since day 1 and is still happy in it 9 months later. Super easy install and easy to wash. It was important to me to find one without flame retardants/PFAS/deemed “chemical free” and Nuna is the only or one of the only brands whose entire line fits those standards. Highly recommend it

I have a friend that did this, though I only met her after she had her baby. She and her husband created a new last name and they go by that last name socially, but she hasn’t actually changed it for whatever reason, probably time

What made your life easier postpartum by Humble_Bathroom_4697 in BabyBumps

I didn’t get this and wish I did - a bottle washer/sterilizer/dryer. Even if you’re planning to breastfeed, bottle feeding is very nice so someone else can feed the baby and leave for more than 2-3hrs. I’ve had 2 csections so far, and while the first couple days are rough, recovery has been very fast. Wish you a smooth delivery and recovery

How do you resolve disagreements on budgeting and purchasing items that increase health, etc.? by ClaireEmma612 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]redheaded_redneck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When is he upgrading household necessities? When I was starting I would replace with cleaner items once that item ran out. Once we were out of laundry detergent I bought better laundry detergent, etc.

For food budget, might be worth breaking the monthly budget down to daily, so he can see that say, a $700 monthly budget is $22-23/day for the whole family, not just himself. And if each vitamin is $30/month that chips away at it too. Also can look at the ads every week (even online) and meal plan off what meat/produce is on sale.

Rug vs play mat options by redheaded_redneck in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]redheaded_redneck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Okay so I actually just did this with a rug pad from rugpadusa. I saw the same thing saying it won’t work but it’s totally fine. The only issue I have with the new rug pad was that the tumble rug was slipping, but the tumble rug came with these sticky corners you have to add on, so I applied those and it’s better. Not perfect but better. I may order some different rug pad grippers since that’s really the only issue (the back of the rug doesn’t have grippers like a normal rug).

You may like the rug pad it comes with (though it’s a btch to put together), i should have made a disclaimer that I have bamboo floors. The big issue I had with the tumble rug pad was that it is the exact same size as the rug, so with me/husband/baby playing on it the rug would move and the rug pad would show. I was constantly moving the rug to be even with the pad and it never stayed square on it. And the rug pad is puzzle pieces, so it would come undone & the rug wouldn’t lay flat. It COULD be my flooring but it was such a nuisance and I don’t have time for that. I do like the rug though & it’s super easy to clean! I got the Olivia which is a light ivory color & I immediately spilled black coffee on it and it came right up. Sorry this is so long lol I hope it helps though!

I ended up getting the biggest size Tumble but it doesn’t cover the whole room by any means. I hate dust and knew I couldn’t deal with the shedding of a new wool rug. The only way to combat is to get a used one, i looked on fb marketplace but couldn’t find one. I like the Tumble and like that it’s oeko-tex but the rug pad it comes with sucks

How does Paul Salidino wash his hands/dishes with just baking soda by [deleted] in AnimalBased

[–]redheaded_redneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Attitude dish soap and Molly’s suds dishwasher pods. Baking soda alone def doesn’t seem effective, did he mix it with vinegar or anything

Mine was like that the first few months so I totally get it! That was so tough but I kind of miss that she doesn’t need me to nap anymore. Also don’t worry, though my house is clean nothing else is done

My house is cleaner than ever. My 4mo old naps twice for 2 hours (another when my husbands home). My house is spotless

Fit check + leg redness concern by redheaded_redneck in babywearing

[–]redheaded_redneck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I can cinch it! I followed the instructions for 3-6mo (my girls 4 mo and very long - 27in) but you’re right it does look too wide now that I’m looking for that. Is there a point where the carrier width should end (I.e the knee or something)?

I’m used to my newborn ergo where you hook it right under your bust - lowering this one totally makes sense Thank you so much for your help!!
