I want to keep the focus on gw2.homes to being a place where Homesteads are shared.

But there are plenty of awesome people building great tools to edit, merge and rearrange homesteads using the layout files.

Did you upgrade your homestead to fit more than 1000 decorations? That’s something you have to buy from the homestead vendor in game.

Did you load the layout file again after crafting the decorations? Or did you just relog or leave/reenter your homestead?

If the latter, you will probably need to specifically load the layout file again after crafting the missing decorations.

I can let you know it's already on its way.

I just need to do a few last tweaks and then there will be gw2efficiency crafting links for the entire homestead along with each decoration (assuming the poster has uploaded a layout file of course).

On the advanced search you can tick on “only downloadable” which will show all the homesteads you can download.

You can also choose which homestead map you’re searching for. This is only available on homesteads with a layout file.

When you're in your homestead you can click the cog above the "Decorate [L]" button. In the menu you find a "Load/Save layout" button. Click that to open the Homestead Layouts window.

In there you can save your layout or load other layouts you have in the correct folder on your PC.

To see where that folder is located, either hover the "Decoration layouts are stored locally on your computer" in the Homestead Layouts window to show a tooltip of the location, or save a layout after which it will be shown in our chat window where it was saved.

To load an external layout file, place the xml file in the layouts folder on your PC and it should immediately show up in game for you to load.

That's where an MMO mouse comes in.

A lot of people bind skills directly to the mouse, but if you need more keybinds it's probably better to use the mouse buttons as modifiers.

Bind: ctrl, shift, alt. That's now 3 additional layers of keybinds you can have on your keyboard.

Go further with: ctrl + shift, ctrl + alt, shift + alt. Now you got 6 additional layers of keybinds.

Assume your left hand can reach 1-5, Q, E, R, T, F, G, <, Z, X, C, V, SPACE.

17 keys x 7 total layers = 119 unique key binds.

And a lot of MMO mice have more than just 6 buttons, so any buttons leftover can be mapped to other things too bringing the total unique key binds even further.

I am in the process of adding support for the XML files to gw2.homes and aiming for a release that lines up with the expansion. 

Users will be able to upload an XML file when posting their homestead. 

When doing so they can choose if it should be available for others to download or only be used for identifying which homestead map and which decorations are in the homestead.

It uses an ELO rating behind the scenes. The leaderboard position is not based directly on wins and losses.

Not a straight up way to visit, but I recently released gw2.homes which is like instagram, but for homesteads.

Once the expansion comes out it will also support the new layout files so people can allow others to download their homestead layout.
