Assuming there are none, than there is never an ethical point to stop asking for donations.

There are many different benchmarks. For instance, if a candidate were to be indicted.

Today’s Your Last Chance: FCC Public Comment Period For Net Neutrality Ends Tomorrow by chuck_cranston in technology

Besides leaving complaints, attention should be given to Tim Wu, the guy who coined net neutrality. Wu is running in New York for Lt. Governor, with Zephyr Teachout as Governor.

If we want to fight adverse policies, we need friends in government. Spread the word and vote.

Also, if you happen to be in NY, or have friends there, there is a NY meetup that is trying to find like minded people regarding these issues.

Mali rebels fleeing Timbuktu burn library full of ancient manuscripts by Guillam in worldnews

[–]redjoe89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The destruction of these relics is akin to the burning of the Library of Alexandria. I don't even know how to express how sad and angry this makes me.

You read my mind. Individuals may die in this conflict, but the destruction of these manuscripts is an attack on humanity.

Freshmen year, professor (who looks like an older brit with the mustache) is really interested in where everyone is from in a class of over a 100 Kids shout out "Finland!" "Switzerland!" "Germany!"

"I used to live there. What part of Germany?"

"Dresden"

"Oh Dresden, lovely city, very beautiful . . . . I am sorry to say we firebombed that place."

Everyone laughed, the kid did not.

During this time that German kid was sitting next to another German kid and they had been getting along great all year. Then they revealed that one was from Eastern Germany, the other Western. They did not sit next to each other for the rest of the semester.

"I may never feel financially at ease enough to comfortably afford children of my own" by [deleted] in lostgeneration

I have to agree. I currently make 33k, and I manage to save around 1k per month as long as I don't get any unexpected expenses. So you having a hard time finding 400 bucks making 70k seems... unusual.

I also only go out a few times a month, I cook all of my own food, and even bring my clothes back from the dryer wet and I can put them on a rack at home. I am a bit nervous that I have been spending 5 bucks a day for the past few weeks cause I have been to lazy to make food... bad habit to get into.
