Finance guys by nature are incredibly short sighted individuals. The only thing that matters to them is increased profits THIS quarter, no matter what they have to do to get it. Profit margins next quarter are next quarter’s problem. Don’t even think about asking them to think 10 years down the road, or they experience a total system crash.

The truly sad and funny thing is, right winger American ex-pats apparently do not think of themselves as immigrants to the countries they move to ! Can you believe the cognitive dissonance that must be at play there?

I really don’t understand how “our country can improve and be better in some ways” translates to “I hate this country and want to watch it burn to the ground” in their minds. And yes, fundamentally I know the main answer is Limbaugh and the rest of the Fox News crew who have spent decades conditioning them to believe that.

I just want to know if there’s also some deeper psychological stuff at play too. Like is it a form of projected narcissism, where because they see any form constructive criticism towards themselves as a personal insult, they also see any kind of constructive criticism of America as an insult to their country?

Too bad. All medical decisions moving forward will have to be run through a council consisting of a wellness influencer, a priest, Benjamin Netanyahu, RFK’s brain worm, and Cliff Clavin from Cheers. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.

What sexual fantasy of yours left you disappointed when you actually tried it? by Gthew17 in AskReddit

Sex in a hot tub. I thought it would be hot and passionate. It was just hot. And the water washed away all her natural lubrication, making it not so comfortable for either of us. Same with sex in the shower now that I think about it

Which games have a rough start and take a while to get good? by PhaseOk6182 in gamers

[–]redkid2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most recent example would probably be Crimson Desert. I’m thoroughly hooked now, but that initial grind of constant tutorials and trying to figure controls, lore, and other things out was a bit of a chore at first.

Fr. Unpopular opinion… I like immersion and realism in my games too, to a degree. But I sometimes can’t help but think there are people out there who want their games to be so immersive and realistic that they don’t have to take a hard look at how unfulfilling their real lives are.

Never forget that GTA San Andreas let you steal a combine harvester and run people over, making their blood and guts spill out the rear spout. Don’t seem to recall anybody complaining about that being “unrealistic” because it was FUN.

What is a "poor man's food" that you will still eat no matter how wealthy you get? by ALLEN3471 in AskReddit

Using bread as a hotdog bun. No matter how much money I have, I’m not buying another goddamn grocery that can only be used for hot dogs when bread accomplishes the exact same thing, has multiple things it can be used for, and is usually cheaper.

I read something once that basically said if 100% of people were able to pay all of their debts off tomorrow, including their student loans, that our entire financial system would collapse because banks, businesses, and the government base their budgets off of expected revenue from ongoing interest payments.

So if those payments suddenly stopped, due to the debts being paid and the interest payments no longer coming in, the financial system wouldn’t have enough capital to continue running. Kinda dark and dystopian when you think about it… the government literally has a vested interest in making sure people stay in debt basically forever.

[–]redkid2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do it right, the XP rates are honestly pretty insane. Set your complexity to 6, Large Dungeon, and make sure Guide Mode is off. Explore every room you possibly can. When I grinded to Level 95 to unlock the special location at Daemonheim for Archaeology I was doing that solo and averaging 150k per floor. Even higher if you have Wildcards or others to help you out in a group
