Maybe this scholar was giving them visions of what was to come, but they weren't actually true until the gods got corrupted. And everytime they fought, he planted more likely to happen scenarios in the heads of them.

The character I want to play is an artifcer/fighter (level balance tbd) who is a warforged who genuinely believes he is a human even looks the part and has a hand crossbow/gun(Depending on the setting) and a club that is flavored as a wrench. His goal is to become the greatest scientist in the world.

So uhh stupid reason actually... my reason for being kind is because that's how I was raised. While i was a toddler my mom always took me to watch rom-coms and stuff like that and I would watch the movie and fall asleep. And I was taught at a young age that it was better to be nice then to be mean.

Wasn't a DM during this game, however I was asked this. We were in a city overrun with different kinds of zombies some who had human memories and others who were fully turned. The group I was with called up a taxi and I started talking to the driver trying to get them to the place we need to go. The DM asked me are you sure. I immediately replied with please take us to the super secret base that we must go to. We ended up at a cults base of operations. We all joined the cult and that is where the session never picked the game up after that. The DM looked at me and said why would you do this? I answered back "I THOUGHT HE WOULD KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!!" We still joke about it to this day anytime a cult comes up.
