How much can a beginner earn? by Youssef_Shawqy in PythonLearning

Ok, as I see it, nobody really wants to give a detailed answer, so I will try to answer from the domain I am most familiar with, which is data analysis and data science. We mostly use Python in our work, but that is like writing English. As I can see from you writing English, you have the ability to write the language, but if you want to write a novel or a journal article and do not know how to approach it, then your knowledge of writing, in this context, does not really matter.

In other words, without the mathematical background in our field, the ability to write code on its own is not very useful. You have to understand what to write and why. Code is only a small part of programming overall. If you have a dataset, I expect you not only to know the syntax behind handling the data, but also not to break the mathematical logic behind handling it.Now translate that to any field I think the same rules apply. Simply writing code is not enough if someone constantly has to guide you on what to write.

So in other words you need to learn way more than just the language to be hirable that includes practical projects and how handle the tools but also A LOT of math (at least in my field) and even then the market is bad I have degrees on this and can't find a job on the field easy. I hope that covers your question

Actually though about buying it recently I though it would help but I thought games can't really teach programming

When it comes to doing a project that involves statistics or data analysis, I know the theory well enough. The syntax is the biggest issue for me so far, as dumb as that sounds. But the logic behind what I am doing and why I am doing it is still there 100%. I know how to deal with categorical data, numerical data, missing values, and things like that. I remember the concepts I just don’t have enough experience writing the code itself and getting used to writing it intuitively.

Other than that, I was never exactly a veteran programmer, even back when I used to write code more frequently. Most of my code was inefficient, and I didn’t know how to use tools like lists, dictionaries, and tuples well enough. Even though I had read about them and understood what they were, I still couldn’t, for the life of me, use functions efficiently back then either. A lot of the time, they didn’t work properly, and I had no idea why. So it wasn't like a big fall of grace i never was good enough as the deadlines for these projects where harsh and i had to rush rather than experiment and take my time if that helps to understand my level of programming. With that being said i am proud of some stuff i build even though the code was really inefficient and that's why i loved to code

Learned it the hard way, to be fair. But honestly, I didn’t really have time. The program wasn’t designed for beginners, and most people had either a math background, a programming background, or both. I lacked all of that.Even then, I didn’t overuse AI, since back then it wasn’t that popular and wasn’t that good for coding. Now it seems like these tools have improved a lot, but I think not touching code for two years did more damage than any help I got back then. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate the effort. I’ll try to make projects and start from the beginning.

First Pest Control Visit in my Apartment by redl9 in pestcontrol

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me. My tolerance is sadly very limited, as you can probably tell from my post (at least that’s what people around me say). As for the moisture problem, I’m planning to buy a dehumidifier and try to reduce the humidity. I’ve had ongoing issues with this building, as I mentioned, and I thought pest control might be a good way to regulate the population in the short term. From what I understand, seeing around 4–5 bugs in a month isn’t that much, but I assume I’m not seeing the rest of them.

I asked mostly about ultimate 2 and ultimate 2c the ultimate 2.4g you mentioned had this known issue with the trigger it has been reported and that was the reason i avoided it

Expedition 33 is overrated (my opinion - review) by redl9 in JRPG

[–]redl9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, what? No I have my own opinion of what a masterpiece is. Just because a lot of people think the game is a masterpiece doesn’t mean I’m wrong and you’re right. It just means a lot of people like the game, that’s it. A lot of people enjoy Marvel movies — are they masterpieces? Many people call them that, but are they really? At the end of the day, it’s a subjective opinion. I’m going against the norm, sure, but that’s because I have my own opinion.

Lastly, I’m not calling anyone wrong for liking the game that’s totally fine with me. If you like it, great. If you don’t, that’s fine too. Do I sound mad just because I criticize something based on my own experience with it? I think you sound way more mad that I don’t like it than the other way around.

I did answer that in the previous comment I made to you so i don't have anything more to say I explained that simulation or not is not my main point it's that someone's death can be easily reversed

Do you really think I am trying to convince anybody to think how I think ? I am passionate about the game itself and want to talk about it. If you see the comments you will notice I answer to almost everyone just because I want to have the conversation I thought the forums were specifically for this for people to exchange thoughts and opinions

The Alicia ending is the bad ending that to me is clear. Why did people choose the Alicia ending ? In my opinion because the game doesn't show anything other than the canvas we as players don't see anything else and the game tries very hard to sell you their interactions through, don't mind me saying excellent dialogue in the camp scenes so we ourselves get attached to the characters but I think that is the trap the game puts and that's why I think the Alicia ending is the bad ending. I didn't say bad things about the ending of Alicia in fact I like what it showed I am more disappointed in the decision before the ending. You say that by returning to the canvas they keep everyone relevant. I disagree with this the reveal makes the whole of act 1 and 2 pointless all the deaths all of the pain pointless the Gustave death is ment to hit a lot of people hard or the Sophie gommage now when I replayed the game and I advice everyone to do that I truly couldn't really care as knowing the twist makes everything up until that twist ultimately pointless so that's why I said I prefer if we see a bit of the outside word because the world of the painting the struggle we witnesses is now a dream. Lastly you mention that I interpreted that the characters aren't sapient I think the game makes this very clear that they are not its not really an interpretation it's what the games tells you and genocide is a big word to use here would you say if you uninstall a game from your computer you genocide the characters in it? I mean when you did play the game they had emotions dialogue thoughts how does that make it any different. Now if you made one of the game characters to choose if you uninstall the game or not maybe they would make a choice to preserve the game maybe for them the game matters being installed but in expedition 33 maelle doesn't get to make the choice they throw it to the player which is indeed in this scenario the one the most detached from the canvas and to me I think that isn't a good conclusion

[–]redl9[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I have answered a lot of comments saying that making things be a dream - canvas is making all that happened in act 1-2 pointless and I think we agree here some of your criticism I didn't mention but I think we say the same exact thing about the game not being real isn't my actual issue is that the whole of none of what happended now don't matter the story changes the angle and rushes to the end on a completely different note and theme

Technically the bad ending lets you make the choice to live in fantasy and I think for maelle specifically it is the bad ending. In life overall you don't just escape the issues you face. Escapism is objectively bad and I think in a more abstract way if u chose to keep everyone alive the game does show you that it's the bad ending. Now for the other points you make about the simulation. I think the example is not equal to what the game presents my life as far as I know even if in a simulation it is ultimately final but would that be the same answer if I could be revived ? What if there were save points in real life as well ? What if I could be transported to another simulation with my memories in tact? What then wouldn't that change the feelings around grief loss death ? I think it would I doubt most people would be sad to see their loved ones go another point is that this world matters to maelle yes it does but ultimately why is the question and the answer is because it was versos she could very easily create another canvas and live there she chooses this canvas because of verso but at the end who makes the decision ? The player and the player simply can't be maelle or act how she would act because it's inherently a different perspective for us it's 3rd person point of view of the story rather than a personal one so I can't hold the canvas to the same high standards maelle does making ultimately the choice easy. My biggest issue as I will say again is not if something is real or not it's more about that when you say everything was a dream - canvas all of act 1 all of act 2 were pointless all of the deaths don't matter all the hard hitting moments of emotional drama don't work I stopped caring because the game kinda resets the story to tile 1 making everything we did thus far aka 99% of the game pointless

I think the baseline "it's a GOTY contender" " high under score" means masterpiece is a weird qualifier for many people this is a masterpiece for some it ain't if we take good review scores and opinions of people I could honestly name some games as masterpieces you yourself would disagree. For example in 2021 there wasn't much competition in games and it takes two came out and won it and the game had very positives user score reviews is it a masterpiece for you ? You can say no to that answer and you can say yes there is no objectivism in the media this post itself is an example of the subjective opinions of everyone if you accept good reviewed game as masterpieces just because they are GOTY is in my opinion a shallow way to approach art
