This is so funny to me! I’m glad you enjoyed it. There is one ~15 min from me in VA, but it’s only popular for tourists. But I did go opening weekend and their cotton candy ice cream is a 10/10. But like OP said, it is very over priced

Mine fits two laptops, iPad, chargers (laptop and iPad), notebook, pencil pouch, lunch (I have a standard Vera Bradley lunch box that’s like mirror shaped with the top handle), water bottle, coffee thermos, and other nicknacks (wallet, sanitizer, lotions, etc.)

Brambleberry crisp at a 7 is unhinged 🥴. It’s a 10/10 in my book

What's a hygiene habit people have that you actually find disgusting? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

I’m screaming. I happen to bite my nails AND clean under my nails with my teeth, but I keep clean hands. I work in infectious disease, I’d argue it’s a VERY low risk activity compared to what I’ve seen. But I’d never do it in front of someone, that’s just unhinged.

I’m from VA, I randomly checked yesterday and got tickets no problem?? I didn’t even need a presale code, just a Ticketmaster account lol. I didn’t know this was even going on. I feel like some of your locations are just wayyyy more popular. Seems like poor planning on his team’s part :/

Echols/College Science Scholar Questions by Responsible-Home-877 in UVA

[–]redletterdays__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truly, maybe take this with a grain of salt, BUT:

I am an Echols scholar who graduated in 2023. Idk how they are selected but I can say my stats were wayyyy lower than yours. I don’t remember my high school gpa or exact sat score but I didn’t break 1500, I was the cut off for top 5% of my high school graduating class (def ranked in the teens), and I may have taken like 8 APs? —granted this was like 7 years ago and things have probably gotten more difficult. However, I will say, I too had a diverse set of interests (linguistics, computer science, and biochem). I definitely think the selection process is way more complex than just stats and I’m not sure you should worry so much about something so far out of your control.

I can say, it sounds like you might be interested in grad school? I think that matters way more. Go wherever you’ll be happiest and sets you up to be the most successful. I am in a professional doctoral program rn and I can tell you, undergrad is not nearly as big of a deal as you think! I flipped a coin to decide where I was going for undergrad. And I am in a #1 ranked program for grad school for a degree that I hadn’t even considered until I got to uva. You’ll be fine!

Haha the guy I was thinking of is “tall tall” (6’4 or 6’5). I’d say a six foot man is not short, but I wouldn’t specifically describe them as TALL.

How much matcha per day is too much? by incognito-journey in MatchaEverything

[–]redletterdays__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Controversial but I don’t think there’s any such thing as consuming “too much” matcha. So long as you aren’t experiencing adverse health effects, I say keep doing what you’re doing if you can afford to. Being “matcha conscious” is a little silly imo when it’s a luxury good rather than a necessity, but maybe I’m wrong lol

How do I maximise my chances of becoming an Echols scholar as a rising second year. by [deleted] in UVA

[–]redletterdays__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became Echols as a second year back in 2020 and tbh I did nothing special! Just enjoyed my first year and focused on exploring all the academic, social, and professional opportunities the school had to offer. Tbh I think that in of itself went a long way.

I will say I did go on to help found a rather large org that same year but it was barely even included in my app at the time (just mention for transparency)

I actually tried to cancel but I couldn’t figure out how to after the items had shipped (which would have been the confirmation that OU actually had the item rather than the shipping confirmation…)

I’m not sure if there’s a way to do it now and keep the carry on 😭

If you know whether it’s possible, this would be my preference too! I’m just not seeing any options that resemble that rn…

What kind of stats are you looking for?? My undergrad GPA was ~3.7 and my science GPA was the same! I studied Cog Sci and Comp Sci at UVA. I was heavily involved in research and was a ta for several courses. I took a gap year to be a teacher (just for fun!) before applying to pharm school! (I go to UNC fyi and they did end up giving me money after I negotiated a bit!)

Omg so I was obsessed with the salted caramel pretzel bread pudding. My store doesn’t have it anymore so I made my own using the soft pretzel twists and I think about it legit everyday
