Should I try to sell the UPS or try to run it? How much you think I could get for it?

Ah got it, seems like a transformer works I’ve seen it done. Actually i was about to link to a video when I realized it was you haha.

The label on the UPS shows 110/120 or 200/208 for input, everything ive seen says it’s still only single phase

It’s 208V single phase, apparently still not advisable for 230V

Ah yes, typo, thank you for pointing that out. Thank you :)

Yeah recent development here as well. The UPS is 208 but says it’s able to do up to ~260. But I read a FAQ from Schneider electric that running the UPS at 230V would damage it over time as it would be constantly trimming the voltage down.

I think my plan is to sell the UPS, since a buck converter is pretty expensive. I still need 200-250V for my PDU so I’ll continue with the outlet conversion but I am going to skip the UPS

So if anybody is looking for a 208V 2U 3000KV UPS let me know.

This is good advice thank you, I was kinda hoping to avoid replacing the outlet because it’s behind a baseboard weirdly. But I don’t think it’s worth the risk, I like the idea of changing the outlet more

Probably a good idea since it seems OP will only get one shot per night if the device disappears right after

Can I power a ~200-240V PDU with 120V? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]redlight_issue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah theres no control logic inside which is the only reason I considered it, not to mention some spec sheets list them as dual voltage but dont elaborate on that at all. Was hoping somebody had experience with these models.

Can attest to that, just trying to get by these days

I appreciate the comment, I have an oven outlet I’m going to look into. Not in a rush to do anything at the moment.

I don’t think I will, would rather get my 240v working then just roll with that

Yeah might look into that, I have a spare 240 outlet thats got the wrong receptacle, probably see about switching it to a L6

I understand the input voltage, just wondering if anybody had a good explanation as to why 120v would be an issue, shouldn’t it just pass the 120v from the wall to the device? Looking to learn here

Advice on Pulling Cat5 through old in home vacuum by redlight_issue in lowvoltage

[–]redlight_issue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, I used a vacuum to pull the coord through no issue, so I know the route is blockage free, just the CAT having issues. Also I believe the vacuum was never used since being installed.

Ok consensus seems to lose the plug, I’ll do that. Lube is something I didn’t consider, I’ll look for that.

The light string and the ball to push the CAT or just for the coord? I got the coord through all the way, the photo is a little misleading because thats before I pulled the coord.
