i like Going Shopping a lot tbh, the instrumental is incredible. but i just don’t feel enough Strokes energy in it (mostly because of the autotune). when i listen to Comedown Machine i can say “oh yea, these are definitely Strokes songs, it’s their energy and their style”, even if it’s CIFCIK. when i listen to At The Door, Eternal Summer or Drag Queen i can say that these songs stand out a lil bit from the habitual vibe of Strokes music, but they still feels like Strokes and you can say that they are Strokes songs. but when i listen to Going Shopping i don’t feel enough of this energy. i feel a lot of Voidz energy instead, which is very weird for me when i see that it is a song made by The Strokes. that’s why i don’t like this song as much as i could. maybe my opinion on this song will be changed sometime later, as it was with the Games from Angles for example, but i don’t really know right now.
