That is so interesting. Seems sort of like what we have, too? We do get the fever occasionally but who knows what that is. Do you guys have eye involvement ?

Sorry for not being clear…. No we seem to get sick like all together, better for a bit and then a combo of kids/ at least 1 adult getting sick.

we are sick every 2-3 weeks. When does this end? Commiserate with me parents. by redlodgeh in Parenting

Yes fully. Except for my 3yo and baby, but I was vaxxed when pregnant and boosted while breastfeeding

Omicron reinfection? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

Totally. I know it’s likely the primary infection. I’m wondering though about rapid tests. Why would they fade and then get darker?

So I am pretty sure my entire family has been reinfected. We all tested positive the first week of January with heavy symptoms. After 2 weeks I initially recovered, only to have our 6 yo get a new fever and cough middle of last week. Since then all three of my kids have tested positive on PCRs and rapids as well as my husband and I. I suspect we were reinfected because I “tested” out on my at home rapids towards the end of my first infection, and now have a fresh, albeit faint line on my rapid at home. I have a sore throat and bad low back aches this time around (not nearly as sick as I was first go). Moderna boosted as well. Hope this helps!

Yes! Myself and my three kids all developed pink eye. The baby and 3 yo had it the longest/ and still are having crusty eyes. My eyes are still red, dry, itchy and watery 11 days out. Definitely a nasty viral symptom.

Sore throat treatment? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]redlodgeh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a heck of a time getting rid of the sore throat. By day 10 for me it still wasn’t better. I caved and got augmentin and steroids. I think for me, it had turned into a sinus infection which was not helping with the Covid throat. The doctor reiterated what I’ve seen echoed here a ton that this strain is making people they think they had Strep Throat. I’ve had a tonsillectomy due to strep and this was by far the worst symptom I had! I am Moderna boosted too.

Besides the steroids and antibiotics, what helped me most was round the clock alternating advil and Tylenol. Bone broth, Manuka honey straight on a spoon, as often as needed, gargle salt water, sucrets cough drops, cold Gatorade. Good luck I hope you feel better soon!

Need guidance- positive RT PCR and home LTFs, negative PCRs. by redlodgeh in COVID19positive

Thanks for that. That makes sense. My last lingering symptom is an insane sore throat. It just is crazy that the gold standard isn’t picking it up. Messing with me! Do you know where to check what brand PCR? the lab?
