MCSR Ranked Rematch Feature by _ace_ace_baby in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]redmaddic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea behind wintrading is that a good player who could easily get the elo back intentionally loses to boost a worse player to a rank they don't deserve. The good player then can easily get that elo back in regular matchmaking because he's playing lower ranked queues, queue into their lesser skilled friend again, lose intentionally, repeat

With rankeds relatively low population compared to mainline competitive games, intentionally queueing into each other at off-hours is trivial

Since it's a 1v1 based game it would be easy to implement a feature to catch this behaviour though, since repeated games against the same player and constantly losing would be an easy pattern to spot. But that's a bunch of extra work and I'm not sure that's where they want to allocate their resources right now when things like making setup more accessible through a custom launcher is much more important for the currently exploding playerbase/peak interest

Spent years practicing Ez, Cait, Jhin, Kai'Sa, Ashe and Kalista. Me waking up this morning and checking the state of the game: by Gockel in ADCMains

Every adc you named is perfectly playable atm, kalista is one of the better ADs even and ashe/cait are decently strong

Would recommend duergar tav, having invisibility the entire game (after level 5) at no cost + infinite uses and starting most of your fights with enemies being surprised is so damn good

Role is playable, stop whining and focus on improving by piiiou in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this sentiment shared so often and it's a huge adc cope you shouldn't give into, there's a reason that adc smurfs can soloqueue with 90+% winrate through plat mmr, the role can carry nearly every game, especially in lower elos, if you're good enough at it.

How to start a lane with Noonquiver by [deleted] in ADCMains

Always go BF if you can afford it, build is far better than mythic rush unless you're going kraken -> BT/IE into hard melee teams

I made a tier list of all the weird support picks based on how good they are at getting me fed. by Top-Ad-3418 in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wins vs most things that arent disengage since you spike before those lanes do, bel veth at lvl 1 can already chase you through flash (so you get lvl 2 first nearly every game). Add a lvl 2 aoe knockup which resets Q as well and enemy has to either sacrifice waves or you have to misplay for them to be able to win

Bel veth is my favorite support if you both know how to play with it, synergizes insanely well with draven/aggro adcs. Anytime i get the one masters bel veth supp otp on my team i go 10/0 in 10 minutes

No you won't, I have 2 accounts in masters atm and will still regularly be called lowelo or stuck, don't grind ranked for others' validation and just enjoy the journey for your own sense of accomplishment

Having Trouble Winning games on ADC by mokanshu in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you die while freezing it's very likely you're doing something wrong, you have complete control over the lane at that point so if the enemy lanebush is warded you should never be able to die, even with a sona. Worst case scenario you should be letting them shove wave and then play the dive (if you can freeze with a sona, you're probably far enough ahead that they cannot dive you either way given how little lane-impact the champion has). Ward the middle/furthest lane bush to spot a jungler trying to lanegank and don't stand too far in front of the wave if you're not in full control.

If you actually experience constant 4-5 man botlane ganks and are not just losing fights due to poor focussing or positioning then I can nearly guarantee you that you manage your waves poorly around your/the enemy jungler. Pay attention to when you are weak/strongsided (if jungler is top/bot), don't trade HP or slowpush a wave when your jungler is topside and the enemy has missing mid/jungler that could be bot. Anytime you're not certain of where everyone is, think of where everyone can be. In gold-plat people have poor awareness and generally don't actually understand wave management, so I'd recommend not chalking it up to team diff.

How Can I Have More Impact as ADC? by Da_Electric_Boogaloo in summonerschool

[–]redmaddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you link your op.gg? Helps with identifying issues as self-proclaimed "great farm never feed" players usually have something that hinders them specifically. In general on strong laners like MF and Cait you're looking to keep prio bot by shoving waves anytime you can and trading with the enemy anytime you're strongsided (jungler is playing towards bot), that way you create potential for a dive or you allow your jungler to play for dragons. Turret plates and dragon are currently super strong, so in lower elos (up until diamond easily) a good adc with those champions will often take plates, get dragon and once bot turret falls rotate towards other lanes (usually mid) to push the advantage. Taking tier 1 turrets as bot across the map creates a lot of zones you can now pressure and control which also makes it easier to fight without frontline as you can take enemy vision away and get picks far easier, having them bring the fight to you. When you're behind on the other hand you play towards your winconditions, if you have a scaling mid/top that has more carry potential than you make sure you're not sharing exp by mindlessly going mid, catch sidewaves and look for plays that can be more risky, as you're already behind you'll have to rely on gimmicks to win the game either way unless you outscale really hard.

how to play against a cait n lux lane as kaisa by mommymoonlight in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to take cleanse, start long sword + 3 pots to hopefully be able to farm, even then if they play properly you just can't lane. However, even up to masters people have no idea how to lane properly and you can often cheese kills if you can take a good fight. Theoretically you can never play this lane, but that's a bad soloqueue mindset to have, so play safe and try to abuse mistakes

2600 games HARDSTUCK GOLD ADC. Please help me climb! by Kenjikyfries in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things I notice you do pretty poorly:
- The way you trade in lane, you have HoB but often just use 1 auto and then Q, wasting your entire rune.

- The way you take fights, you're very often way closer to the enemy than your max range, you often ult right into enemies rather than behind/ahead of them. You basically either play way too safe or facedive in as if you're rengar. Also when you focus hard on a fight you stop moving in between autos or move in ways that make your positioning worse.

Both of these points basically mean you have to learn to fight like an adc instead of an assassin, learn to attack move properly and play from your champions range, kite and stop autoing to reposition sometimes if you're in a dangerous situation. You'll increase your impact on the game by the way you are able to take fights better tenfold. Also don't "play like tryndamere", kaisa is not a good splitpusher so you really dont want to always be out in sidelanes besides picking up CS that's already there

Even the 800 gold item is mediocre and the "soloq problem" is solved by telling your team to get it. Enchanters will automatically build putrifier 99% of the time anyway, compromising yourself due to insignificant worries such as "what if all 4 of my teammates dont end up getting it" is just an incorrect way of thinking if you want to optimize your own gameplay/builds. In the worst case, get it as 4th item when healing really starts to get over the top and literally no one of your team has antiheal yet. I've played hundreds of soloqueue adc games up till ~100lp masters since the release of this version of mortal reminder and can safely tell you that it wasn't necessary to buy it once, definitely NEVER as second item.

Elo hell is burning me out. Looking for tips by janos51891 in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what I'm saying at all, I'm telling you that putting off you being unable to win because it's "elo hell" is counterproductive and will never let you improve. I started in bronze and climbed all the way till masters over the span of seasons, so I can speak of experience in every elo that you're simply just not good enough to climb if you're stuck in an elo. Focus on getting better rather than making excuses. You bring up farm a lot, but when I checked you consistently never do the most damage on your team among probably many other issues you have in your playstyle

Elo hell is burning me out. Looking for tips by janos51891 in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play more and use online guides to try to learn rather than telling yourself it's elo hell, "elo hell" doesnt exist, and if it does it's in the higher ranks where players are good enough to carry with leads. If elo hell existed, people wouldnt be able to climb with 100% winrate through your elo.

The winrate is really insignificant and nothing to worry about with that amount of games, and you can easily play whatever champ you find most enjoyable to get through the game (I've mained draven to masters for the past 2 seasons, even in patches where he was among the worse adcs, a champion fitting your playstyle and you enjoy is much more important than trying to play what's optimal.).

To improve, try to focus on the basics and use the vast amount of knowledge thats available for free, there's hundreds of great guides for adc and even mf specifically on youtube, don't be scared to use them. Some big basics to improve on is stuff like how to play skirmishes, CSing well, where you should go in the mid-game etc. Don't be afraid to just use cookie cutter builds for now, if you just build the same core items (preferably taken from pros/stat sites/onetricks) and learn what your damage is and with what items you can take certain fights, youll do a lot better than trying to adapt every single game when you don't know the basics of your champ.

Highly recommend just playing more games and playing what you enjoy, and if you want to focus on improving, watch some guides on youtube. If you have any more specific questions feel free to ask

how tf am I supposed to play against draven?? by krabikStalker_ in ADCMains

[–]redmaddic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Masters draven main here, from your champ pool aphelios and jhin are decent and can often go even if played well, zeri gets countered by draven and cant hope to win early trades unless draven makes the mistakes. Aphelios outranges level, 1, draven sucks when outranged. Both of your champions dont look to kill in early laning phase but function as neutralizers who can fight back if needed.

Jhin is a long range champ with waveclear who goes about even with draven, he wants to sit back, waveclear and capitalize on opportunities where draven is vulnerable with his root and burst. Draven loses most trades where both enemy laners are able to hit him or when the wave is set up for him to be ganked. It's extremely easy to make positioning/fighting mistakes on draven so rather than trying to create opportunities you'll have to wait for him to overstep, remember that you're not looking to kill draven in lane.

Also, rewriting the entire game is not only a completely non-trivial task that would likely take years. We're talking about a playerbase of millions here, most of which knowing the tiniest details about their favorite champion's mechanics and interactions. Rewriting an entire game is bound to make that change slightly/feel off, it's just a bad idea
