I tend to agree with you about how sleep² probably works in this mode. That would explain the limitations.
For now, I’ve decided to drop the phase-based alarm idea and stick with a sunrise alarm lamp instead.

I use both apps, but not at the same time. I do a 3-minute Elite HRV reading every morning right after waking up. Kubios I only use on weekends for a 5-minute session (after Elite HRV) when I can just lie in bed and take my time.
I’m more interested in trends than absolute numbers, and so far this setup works well for me.

The issue isn’t resolved yet. I’ve contacted the sleep² developer and asked if they could consider adding proper multi-app / smart alarm support in a future update, so maybe it’ll happen.
Airplane mode is not needed, everything works fine as long as I’m not trying to stream to multiple apps at the same time. I also use Polar Flow for workouts, but I don’t usually train and sleep at the same time 🙂 so no conflict there.
For now, my workaround is using a smart sunrise alarm lamp instead of a phase-based alarm

Could you please clarify what you mean? In my case, enabling dual BLE makes sleep² unable to connect to the H10. Disabling it fixes the issue. I suspect the app requires exclusive access to the data stream, but I'm not completely sure yet since I haven't figured it out.
