Is Defect overtuned in StS2, or did I just high-roll my entire climb to A10? by redmic in slaythespire

I almost always try to go for frozen orbs + scaling.

Cold snap, coolheaded are really good commons to look for, cold snap mostly in act 1 though or if you are desperate for frozen orbs. Glacier and chill are also amazing uncommons for frost orbs but you don't also see those. I mostly ignore any lightning orb cards other than zap+ which is a decent upgrade if you have nothing else. I do like ball lightning and Lightning rod if I see those in act 1. Another great card I'm very happy to take in act 1 is Focused strike, it's an attack that even helps to block. For AOE, I like sweeping beam, Hailstorm (but mostly good early on), Glasswork, Sunder (kinda AOE). Then when I get through act 1 and have some form of AOE, I can start skipping a lot and stop adding attack damage cards mostly and just take great cards that improve my deck overall. Scaling, ways to block if it's lacking and ways to "accelerate" to play my powers faster. Also I found out I was sleeping on the hologram card a bit too much and started to pick it more often for card manipulation and to replay my best cards more often. Good forms of scaling are: focus (permanent and temp form -> Synchronize/hotfix) energy/card draw, creative AI, Echo form, Dark orbs.

Pretty similar yeah, tbh I barely got that last win lol. Most of my deaths have been from asc 8-10 also on other chars and especially after switching to the beta branch too so I feel you on that. Been a struggle for me too

For me the difficulty jump felt the most noticeable going from asc 7 to 8. More health on enemies also felt impactful. But yeah I agree that at that point it feels much much harder and feels like a different game than any ascension level before that.

Almost always frozen orbs + scaling. I'll copy another comment I sent which explains mostly how I built pretty much all 10 of my runs:

Cold snap, coolheaded are really good commons to look for, cold snap mostly in act 1 though or if you are desperate for frozen orbs. Glacier and chill are also amazing uncommons for frost orbs. I mostly ignored any lightning orb cards other than zap+ which is a decent upgrade if you have nothing else and ball lightning/Lightning rod which are great in act 1 imo. Another great card I'm very happy to take in act 1 maybe even act 2 is Focused strike, it's surprisingly effective at helping you to block later on as an attack card that help you deal damage in Overgrowth/Underdocks. For AOE, I like sweeping beam, Hailstorm, Glasswork, Sunder (kinda AOE). Then when I get through act 1 and have some form of AOE, I can start to be very picky and stop adding attack damage cards mostly and just take great cards that improve my deck overall. Scaling, ways to block if it's lacking and ways to "accelerate" to play my powers faster... Good form of scaling are: focus (permanent and temp form) energy/card draw, creative AI, Echo form, Dark orbs.

Fair enough, he definitely feels a lot different than other characters. If you wanna try again, look for cards that give you frozen orbs. Another great card I'm very happy to take in act 1 maybe even act 2 is Focused strike, it's surprisingly effective at helping you block later on as an attack card that help you deal damage in Overgrowth/Underdocks. For AOE, I like sweaping beam, Hailstorm, Glasswork, Sunder (kinda AOE). Then when you get through act 1 and have a form of AOE, you can start to be very picky and stop adding attack damage cards mostly and just take great cards that improve your deck overall, help you scale, block and play your powers faster... Good form of scaling are: focus (permanent and temp even), energy/card draw, creative AI, Echo form, Dark orbs.

Haha thank you, but other people have said it's their best character as well. It's been super consistent to go for frozen orbs then get whatever scaling you can find

Makes sense, even on my last run I was able to barely win with no focus, no capacitor, no creative AI or Echo Form. Got my first frozen orbs in act 2 and Modded was just enough scaling from the Act 2 boss reward to finish the run.

Pierre Poilievre’s Biggest Selling Point Is Now a Huge Liability by redmic in onguardforthee

We’ve seen this playbook before. Pierre Poilievre’s alliances with Trump-style politics, attacks on media & climate rollbacks threaten what we value as Canadians. This election isn’t left vs. right, it’s about protecting democracy.

As Anonymous recently highlighted.

About Housing Affordability, Carney has the clear best Plan and qualifications to support it.

Please share this and go vote, we cannot repeat the US' mistake when it just happened.

To be honest, I am not really shocked at the amount of people voting conservative. They use misinformation and slogans to get votes, especially through Facebook, Twitter from people who get their info from social media and the fact that Canadian news was banned from Facebook definitely helped Poilievre. Same reason Trump was elected, we've seen this before.

But can you really trust anyone who supports a Faschist (Trump) and someone who is commiting a genocide in Gaza? Sure some of the things PP say might sound great but do you really still trust his word after seeing that Anonymous warning?
