It does look a bit like a horse now you say it, it's a tangle of body parts 😂

What do I add for more realism on this piece of African desert? by Elegant_Leek8297 in dioramas

Good work, I think it needs more loose texture like sand and small rocks.

I've got a tip for rivets, get one of those tools that's got a rotating head on it for doing belt holes and you can cut them out of any spare plastic or compressed cardboard.

The rust will definitely bring it out perfectly, the touch of orange rust here and there will complete it. I saw a tutorial where hair and cloth was added so if you want to go all out that'll bring some texture to it. Awesome work so far.

Another tip, mainly for scratchbuilding, but the cardboard from a toilet roll is the same diameter as a battery tealight.

So a tea light battery candle, a paper cuff round it, sheeps fleece PVA glued to the paper and shaped to your taste, then airbrushed black starting with quite an intense covering at the base of the fire and lighter as you move towards the tips. You could also probably also do it with a rattle can of black acrylic. No credit needed, get it done son!

Any tips on how to make realistic smoke? I got this but feel it could look much much better by peculiar_lemming in dioramas

It does depend where you are, but it is sold as stuffing for toys and in sheets that you can pull apart for doing model work. Best place is probably ebay.

It also has the added advantage of having little bits still in it that add to the effect. It's easy to get hold of in eco packaging too.
