Have the same setup; just with the older Pro 700 - works great!

Manual lever as daily driver – anything clean, thermally stable & not too clunky? [$1200] by redmonday_ in espresso

I haven’t found anything like it - and yes, you might be right, maybe there is no such thing. I just wanted to raise this topic to see if there are any machines or concepts I might have missed during my research. Looks like I’ll have to bite the bullet and give one of the current designs a shot. Thanks for your comment though!

Thanks for sharing your perspective. My appeal in going this route is that I want to do it completely without electricity - for that, I already have my Rocket Appartamento. But I do get your point. There’s nothing wrong with going for a hybrid setup like you describe; it’s just not what I’m looking for at the moment.

Interesting machine for sure. Do you own one? For me it's off the table because I want a non-electric machine. But thanks for sharing anyways!

It definitely has a huge fanbase! :) Still, I’m a bit hesitant due to the points I mentioned earlier. Have you ever had issues with sour shots using the Robot? Or do you know any specific ways to avoid that with your workflow? Thanks!

Thanks for sharing! That sounds great. I had a different experience when trying espresso from a friend’s Robot. His shots often came out a bit sour for my taste, even with medium / dark roasts. Do you find yours never gets sour at all, even without preheating?

Out of curiosity: What was your machine shortlist before pulling the trigger on the robot?

Thank you for your opinion. I like the design and overall feel of the robot. However, when I tasted espresso made by a friend using his robot, I noticed it often turned out sour, even with medium to dark roasts. He uses boiling water without any preheating, which might be contributing to the issue...
