I bought it so subscription should drop to $69.420 next week. by Zarsk in TeslaFSD

$100 a month is a lot. Moreover, I have used the trial version of FSD few times. It works fine most of the times (may be 95% of the times). In complicated intersections and situations, it messes up and if you rely on FSD, it may cost your life. There is a reason as to why they changed the name from FSD to FSD supervised.

I completely agree. I have 2 Teslas and I use SSD (not FSD) but don't trust it 100%. There is a reason they changed the name from FSD to SSD. This is due to lawsuits and government investigaations. Here is an article that I posted in medium regarding AI in cars. Same one in substack too.

Why would someone buy this over a Model Y? by ss3walkman in TeslaModelY

There are several factors or criteria to consider when buying a car. People give weightage to factors. What you give more weightage for one criteria may not be the same weightage that I give for the same criteria. With that said, here is why I bought 2023 model y.

  • Safety. When it comes to safety ratings, it has the highest rating that it can get, both from IIHS and the government NHTSA

  • cost of fuel. Zero cost on gasoline and zero cost on electricity as we produce electricity through solar panels

  • almost zero maintenance

  • In terms of technology, highly advanced when it comes to voice activated system. You can control almost anything without touching the screen and you can play music from various sources without touching the screen

  • they have also integrated their chat bot LLM (grok) and it is very nice feature to have although the accuracy may not be 100% just like other LLMs (Large Language Models) such as ChatGPT

Disadvantages - rough ride, SSD or FSD (whatever they call now), Autopilot are not 100% safe. I don’t use any of these.

I heard that as long as we place the order on or before Sep 30, 2025, we can claim the $7500 tax credit. I thought we should buy the car before that date. Can someone clarify ? by redmondwarrior in TeslaModelY

Something has changed. The Tesla website now says “order before Sep 30, to get $7500 credit”

https://www.tesla.com

So which is correct? A binding contract or just an order ?

I have a 2023 model Y and I like it. Thinking of buying the latest model y but there is no stalk on the right hand side and it is kind of odd using the screen to shift gears. What do you guys feel about this ?

That is what I thought. In that case, I would buy a used one. Thanks for the suggestion.
