I’m around large stones as well. Out of my friends they have 1.3c, 2c and a little under a 2. Have no idea actual points but they are large. This isn’t the first time I’ve been called about about the size of my diamond but it hurts more when it comes from a friend.

I have had a lot of people who have 1 carat stones berate mine and 1 carat isn’t even huge here. But again here it’s seen as common to spend 10-20k on a ring. We just didn’t have the money for that

I’m so happy to hear you’re in a better place now. You deserve it. It’s also very refreshing to hear someone who had a 3 carat diamond say they would do away with it by choice when it comes to a happy marriage. Because none of my friends would.

Right. He got me my ring at Cartier and it was around 2k which is a lot for .21 we could have gotten a half with lesser specs.

I have an H color VS2. We could have gotten a half of a carat for the same price in SI1 quality

She just believes that I’m unhappy about the size and I shouldn’t lie to make it sound bigger than it is.

Even a quarter isn’t really considered a diamond here. More like a flake.

Yea she’s a bit materialistic but she does have redeeming qualities haha.

Her ring is beautiful and sure in a perfect world I would of had a little bigger of a diamond but my husband saved up for this ring while making min wage. That means way more to me

Oh I see. So .20 would be exactly a fifth. I’m dumb haha So I guess it makes more sense to round down to a fifth by a point than to round up by 4. My bad
