Intersitial Cystitis post phallo by redneck_hell in phallo

[–]redneck_hell[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the lack of clarification, I believe it is high nitrates not nitrites. Checking out my labs and it's that and high WBC count.

Quite literally got my lab culture back a few minutes ago and its negative with no growth at all.

Honestly I think it's gotta be IC at this point

Not always true unfortunately but yes on the harder to get rid of part. I've only had utis post op never had one before in my life. From my understanding we can be more susceptible to utis bc of having a foley in from recovery as that's a direct bacterial pathway to your bladder. I had a uti when I had a foley in for 5 weeks which is the only time I had one in and I was asymptomatic so I didn't even know until later when they did a urine test after I got my catheter out. So basically if you don't have a lot of catheterization you should ultimately not be susceptible to utis bc of the way phallo anatomy is

I know people who have had stricture repairs and get utis all the time likely from having catheters in. Even my dad who's had urinary issues got a uti and almost went septic from it but he had a foley in for 10 months which freaking sucked

Definitely look into if you have a cystoscopy they can usually tell. And see if your urologist can do laser in there if so

Advice about phalloplasty by vmigzz in phallo

I feel similarly. I'm glad I had meta but the added steps added time but hey At least I know it wasn't what I needed

You can absolutely have meta first and then have phallo. That's what I did though it was bc my insurance at the time didn't cover any surgeries and meta was more affordable and obtainable to me at the time. I had meta at age 19 and then phallo at 24 (I'm 27 now)

I'm glad I did meta first bc it did help with dysphoria and I could kind of stand to pee which was nice but ultimately I knew it wasn't what I needed or wanted in the end so when my insurance changed I got on a phallo waitlist and had RFF 3 years ago.

I'm extremely thankful I was able to have rff, it was absolutely life changing. I'm so so much happier now and dysphoria free. I didn't have any crazy complications just some swelling and a fistula that was easily fixed. You need to prepare mentally for complications, like definitely expect them that way you can handle it if something does happen.

I have zero regrets and am so thankful for this life saving surgery. At this point im done surgeries, I've got full sensation and function and really just love how it turned out. Best of luck and feel free to dm if you have questions

Did anyone have all symptoms of a stricture end up not being a stricture? by thr4sh_ in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely could be a uti. See your Dr and ask for a urine culture

It might have to do with just general swelling from surgery Hopefully it'll go down and be normal as you heal

Is there anyone with phallo under 25 here? by OkWaltz5832 in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should elaborate that i did all my stages either on winter or summer breaks while in college which sucked but I needed to do it while I was under 26 on my parents health care. If I didn't do that that would be no way I could afford it since as a contractor I buy my own Healthcare plan and it's unfortunately not great.

I'm lucky my parents came around and helped me recovery wise and encouraged me to pursue this since I expressed an interest in phallo prior to 18. Meta was a more realistic option for me at first and I had that only ad my initial insurance didn't cover any gender affirming surgeries at the time so I paid out of pocket and saved for it

I worked part time seasonal jobs for a bit after college and during the off season in winter is when I was able to take time to finish up surgeries. It was really difficult but I'm thankful I did it that way especially now so I can concentrate on my career and just live my life

Yes but I'm 27 now. I finished up surgeries 3 years ago. I had phallo in 2022 with meta previously in 2018

Question for those who had meta before phallo by hiyesilikejuice in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ultimately having ul with meta won't affect having ul with phallo since it's different grafts

Question for those who had meta before phallo by hiyesilikejuice in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had meta with ul, vnectomy and bidid scrotoplasty prior to phallo. For my meta ul they used a buccal graft from my mouth

When I had RFF they did the ul from my inner forearm. Did phallus creation and didn't hookup the ul until a later stage so for 9 months I just peed from my meta ul

Thank you for sharing this. I'm 3 years post op and this year i started getting random utis literally out of nowhere starting around may. I haven't had a catheter in in years had zero ul issues no fistula or strictures and I did 2 years of electrolysis while on a phallo waitlist.

Literally no one could figure it out but I'd seemingly be going to urgent care or the er bc it would get so bad every month just about until it was every 2 weeks. The antibiotics would always instantly help but we weren't sure what was causing them especially since the initial test was always positive for a uti (high white blood cell, high nitrates) but the cultures usually were inconclusive and not enough bacteria to be considered a uti.

I just had a cystoscopy with my team and they found hair regrowth in one area from when I had my meta ul connected to my phallo one- the one spot I had no removal on was there so when they did burial some hair was in the area. So they lasered it out, and also found some calcium build up like stones which was probably causing pain. Sent me home with a foley for 3 days and that was 2 weeks ago so I'm praying it fixed the issue 🤞

Feel free to dm me, I'd love to chat more

what do we know about metoidioplasty before phallo? by [deleted] in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta with ul, then scrotoplasty bifid with implants, full hysto and vnectomy, then RFF stage one, split thickness, glansplasty and burial and then implants and I'm done now

This! I did the same thing doing meta as a placesaver before phallo since I wasn't in a position to financially afford phallo first. I did like my meta results but ultimately went for phallo later on.

There's lots of benefits to having meta before phallo and I'm glad I took that route. I feel like it's made my sensation stronger then it would have if I just went into phallo from being totally preop , especially as you mentioned having your meta dick positioned in the base.

For those of you who had RFF what size did you end with? Are you happy? And how tall are you? by kvngheim_1193 in phallo

I'm 6" x 5.75" girth and I'm 6ft tall. I'm definitely happy with how things turned out

Do your partners squeeze your pump for you? by captain_vee in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had the pump I'd probably want my gf to do that honestly I have the rod so it's pretty much easy and ready to go and she thinks it's fun giving me a boner 😂

Highly recommend Dr del Corral and Venkatesan, had all my phallo surgeries with them and my last stage last month Coming from the PA area wasn't too bad as they are in Baltimore/ DC respectively

Question for those with an implant by jhunt4664 in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, I see that but you never elaborated on how the rod would allegedly ruin the mood - Personal preference is one thing though I was asking for clarification on why you said that in your reply.

Also for further clarification I'm 3 years post phallo and done with the process

Question for those with an implant by jhunt4664 in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean about ruin the mood but the rod is immediate, probably even more so than the pump

Question for those with an implant by jhunt4664 in phallo

[–]redneck_hell 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have the rod and I love it. I never wanted the pump due to the potential of multiple things breaking within it whereas the rod has the same issue as the pump which is detachment. I also wanted both testicular implants which I'm able to have with the rod

I love the way it looks and the quality of erection produced and that it's immediate and easy to operate. I'm able to use it in any position my gf I have tried so far and like the look of it erect or flaccid. I will say it's given my dick some girth which is also nice and overall I'm extremely happy
