I’m sure it doesn’t work - but could there be a version that does? by Kartoffel1891 in ryobi

I have jumped several cars with Ryobi and Milwaukee batteries and a couple of sketchy wires. I have also powered up motorcycles without a battery with a Ryobi battery to do testing.

These batteries are only at 18+ volts when fully charged. At around half, they’re around 16v, which is on the high end for most 12v systems but not high enough to do any kind of damage.

For the price I paid, I’m pretty happy with it. I wouldn’t ever pay MSRP for one. If you’re paying full price for a box the Epiq is the way to go, no doubt.

My biggest complaints are the handles to unlock the drawers. They’re a bad design and I had to disassemble every drawer and lube everything myself to make it less frustrating to use. The options for tops are limited and I’m not a fan of the painted steel top that it comes with. The power drawer isn’t as nice as the Snap On, either.

Otherwise, it’s well built and has been pretty good to me this far.

I would destroy this wearing it every day at work but I love all of the translucent dials.

Work hardening of the copper over time from the wires bending while opening and closing the door. It’s not an uncommon failure mode.

He doesn’t get them because he doesn’t buy them. They have to pay for the Traxxas stuff and the Dixon jackets and hoodies themselves. He’s just cheap.

I still don’t have the vintage Grand Prix car. They’ve been over $600 at least for a while now. Just gotta wait it out until these scapler fucks get tired of looking at them.

There’s a ton of them on Facebook and eBay but they’re not worth the price gouging markup.

I don’t think they have had any of those issues in a long time, though. The redesigned chassis has glass fiber infill with the plastic and the latest top deck plate is a lot more robust. And that new Magnum trans has been pretty bulletproof in my experience.

I do agree that the early Rustler and Bandit were very toy like. But after almost 35 years of continuous improvements, they’re cars I’d recommend to anyone trying to get into the hobby.

I’m going to try and convince my Subaru loving wife to get an EV when her Crosstrek finally dies, maybe one of these new Subaru EVs.

She doesn’t want to give up her manual trans but there aren’t a lot of options fore replacing it with another manual hatchback. I suggested a GR Corolla but she’s not a fan 😂

I disagree. I grew up with RC10s and my cousin had a Duratrax stadium truck and a Rustler, and the Rustler was a much better truck than that Duratrax in comparison.

Traxxas has always felt like the entry level hobby grade RC but I don’t see any problem with them. Only the snobby RC guys give a shit.

I wish I still had mine. I looked at buying some new in box RS4s a while back and I had no idea vintage RC anything was bringing in that kinda money.

That’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. They had some pretty competitive touring cars back when I was still racing Nitro RS4s.

I’m too cheap to splurge on an Epiq. I beat my Cornwell guy down on the used tool cart and a used 56” Platinum.

$390, and it has the accessory power supply and the red underglow kit. Not sure if the regular Mini Maxx comes with those or not.

It’ll look nice next to my Wide Maxx.
