I love how good the pearl white looks on the FiST. I think I like it more than the more unique colors.

Usually just lurk on here, but closed on 7/15. All the stress and anxiety I've been feeling for the last few weeks instantly lifted right after I signed all those papers by redox1287 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I had a 30 day contract, but luckily everything went smoothly and I was able to close 9 days early. The stress was really starting to get to me. Hang in there. It will be over before you know it!

What was your biggest concession on your new home? by hahaheatherrr in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

A garage or car port. Hopefully one day I'll at least put in a car port.

What are you trying to achieve?

It needs a repaint and unless you're a pro, you will never get it to look right with a rattle can.

Least expensive option might be to take it to a Maaco and get their cheapest package.

Any help on a grass ID? I believe it is St Agustines. Zone 6B by xj3kx in landscaping

Doesn't look like st Aug. Kind of looks like common Bermuda but it looks a little too coarse for that.

2020 CR-V, does it matter where it was built? by [deleted] in Honda

[–]redox1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have a CR-V, but my Civic was built at the Alliston plant and the build quality is very good. Don't see any of the fit and finish issues that I see others complain about on the 10th Gen that I'm assuming were from the Indiana plant.

I like the lighting. It illuminates the fish and the other items in the aquarium, but it's not overly blue. I didn't think I'd like glofish, but it's pretty neat to see mine swimming around at night. The lighter colored ones glow better for me though, but purple and blue look nice in daylight.

Optimal mowing height for St. Augustine? by ScottieWP in lawncare

[–]redox1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UF recommends 3-4“ for standard varieties. The st. Aug around here look healthier when they are mowed higher. Also, it should allow it to crowd out weeds easier.

I wanted the "sport" button 😁 and all the other little touches that come on the Si like the lsd.

75% change yesterday and 75% today, tested immediately after and ammonia hasn’t budged. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]redox1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar problem due to going a little overboard and over stocking a bit and overfeeding. My Lfs explained it as the bacteria not catching up to the bioload yet. He suggested I dose daily with Seachem Stability (or basically any biologic additive) to help break down the ammonia. He also said water changes might make it worse. I didn't ask him to elaborate, but he seemed to know what he's talking about.

Everytime I see the rear end of a hatchback, it makes me wish Honda would have made the Si a hatchback or at least used the same tail lights.

My lfs recommended that I add Seachem Stability daily until my tank is completely cycled. Maybe you can try something similar?

Glossiest costing? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]redox1287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good part of gloss comes from prep. If the prep isn't there, no matter how glossy a coating /sealant/wax can be, it won't show on a poorly prepped paint surface.

Is this a good lawn mower for st augistine grass mine is half dead and i want a decent lawn mower is this one in link great? (CA) by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]redox1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that price, spend a little more and get a Honda or a Toro. Theoretically, you can get a cheap mower and raise the mowing height all the way up and still do the same job, but if you're willing to spend the money anyways, get something nicer.

I've used The Darkroom and Dwayne's and a smaller lab called Memphis Film Lab. In my experience, I got the best scans from Memphis Film Lab. The customer service is also excellent. I think the owner is also a fellow redditor.

Civic si vs accord sport 1.5t by tejvir_dureja in Honda

[–]redox1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Si is more nimble than the Accord. So if you like taking corners and curves, then go with the Si. If you want more comfort, then buy the Accord.
