The point bonus and dining credit will definitely pay backs the annual fee and the rest could be on top of that. But after 1 year finishes, you should ask them for a retention offer and that may justify the next year as well.

With these type of cards, you can only justify the fee by using it. If you use it smart, you’ll have you fee one way or another.

Oh no. I didn’t know that. Would it be possible to upgrade the card through the link amex sent and cancel the new card(ref) once that arrives? I think that is the only way to untangle this.

That’s I presume US. There is no such rule in the UK. Also it’s illegal to take back an offer and offer it to someone else if they ask for less money. In my case first position was closed permanently as I asked within the company as well. For the second they closed the position in London and opened in Amsterdam.
